Vinly wrapped the centre console in gloss black today. Looks ok from a distance, but i reckon it will last two weeks before i get fed up of it tbh. At least i have got some practice at vinyl wrapping...

Did you remove it or wrap it in place?

And do you want some more practice doing mine lol

Nah took it all off and wrapped in in my bedroom with a stanley blade to cut off the excees. I'm not that good that i would let anyone else let me do it on their car ha ha. The hardest part is the grilles under the climatronic screen - ended up not wrapping that bit at all as it was too much hassle tbh.

Anytime I get near vinyl I end up stuck in it. I've got some carbon vinyl and some grey stuff for the front bumper lip and I've had it about 6 months lol.

I'll weld up a downpipe for you or fit a new turbo, but vinyl is my kryptonite lol

did you get heat wrap vinyl? i did my wing mirrors the other day after the guy i go to mess up the first print of my new sunstrip! i took home the bad one, cut it into 2 decent sized sections and stood on my drive with a hair dryer and a stanley :D now got pinstripe right mirror and heatbeat on the left mirror to match my offset sunstrip

Wrapping looks good Ross!
How did you get the surround off if you don't mind me asking?

Cheers Mick! Well firstly you have to remove the cubby hole which is done by putting your fingers in the holes on the underside and pulling towards the boot. Then remove the radio (can use a cut up credit card to insert into the slots at each edge to release the radio - make sure you have the radio code). Once that is done, there are 4 screws at the vertical edges - remove these. Then remove the screw on the underside of the drinks holder, airbag light, demister switch and hazard switch (all one unit). Next remove the bottom panel (under climate) by putting your fingers in the locating holes and pull (should come off quite easily). There are a further two screws under the climate unit that need removed. Once this is done pull the fascia out at the top and you will see that there are two screws at each side of the drinks unit that need removed. Then you have to remove the two screws which secure the climate control to the fascia. Quite a faff tbh.

Went and cleaned the car inside after looking at that picture showing my floor as it's filthy. Gave the outside a quick wash a well.

Hmm, sounds interesting, got any pics of anything wrapped in this?

Wow.. seems alot of work just to get that out! I might give it a go one day :)

Did you get your vagcom to work?

Yeah it's quite a faff and involved lots of f'ing and blinding ha ha

No, did'nt even try tbh. Will try and get it to work perhaps tomorrow night.

.G.

WTF! How come i did'nt see you? The guy in the 106 is clearly curious as to what you're doing ha ha. What's going on with my driving, i'm about 500m behind the car ahead!!

@ Scott - your wrapping looks really good, how did you manage to wrap the driver's handle section with the switches and grab handle? I have done the long curved bit below that and that was hard enough!
