what engine would be in the bmw if you got one out of intrest?
have you changed your mind about wanting a mk5 golf?
Haha hush up you! I'll buy a bright red one then ;)
your talking about high insurance etc but your looking at bmw's
Some of the engines are only 140 bhp mate so not too much trouble ! Not decided on an engine yet anyway bud , still thinking petrol or diesel.

I can afford to run this easily lol, its all been payed for in full the day I insured it , + I do hardly any miles, I just said that insurance is quite high for my age and I'm not spending 1.5k on stage 2 mods and increasing my insurance more ... Got plenty put back for the new car / insurance

So you can't afford mods for this or the extra on insurance but you can afford to buy allot more expensive cars where insurance will be allot more, like the cars you have mentioned. A3's are more 3 series are more and artic vxr's are especially more. Fair enough you can get older 3 series and a3's for 8-9k but will still be more on insurance but arctic vxr's are 12k odd and expensive to insure.

I understand what alex means

his car is alot on insurance, due to all the mods.
If he got a standard car, higher insurance car, it will be cheaper.

Fr's were group 8 on the old insurance numbers they don't cost allot at all. My standard cupra was double the modded fr.

Wasn't having a go, just no point saying one thing then contradicting yourself. May aswell just be honest.

6 months ! lol thats worse than me i usually do one a year i'm doing good this time round then again i've been looking at audi tt's and s3's

8 months :p

I couldn't afford the mods for stage 2 yet alone the insurance after paying for them on the Ibiza , the insurance is going to be more but only a few hundred quid , I can't say I even looked at arctic prices was just something I was planning on looking into , as said I'm bored and want a change
just leave it be, he's obviously bored and wants something different

Well guessed, is this a crime ? I'm feeling like it is :p

C'mon, give the guy a break! :p I had a red 20VT Cupra, and six months down the line I traded in for my black one because I didn't like the colour :ban:

Insurance on a 3 series will be high. My dad is 47 has a clean licence and one crash and he just paid over £550 and he's been driving for 30 years (cheapest price with admiral after haggling). Remember its not just about power, it's about insurance groups. I've tried loads of different cars that had different power outputs but different makes, and you would be surprised what it would cost for a car with a fancy badge with the same power as something thats considered a 'normal' make.

Can understand why you get bored though, i'm the same tbh. I'll be on my 3rd car and only been driving for 2 years!

We are not having a go just banter! plus we are just being realsitic as he is saying he cannot afford the car with mods so saying cannot get to excited about faster cars as will cost just as much. My insurance has gone up £100 this year with no changes to my life (then went up even more to pay protected NCB and for a map)
