Are you looking for a 4x4 1.8tDPJ said:I've been looking into buying a LHD 1.8T leon abroad - I can't find one later than a 2002 model - does anyone know if they were discontinued then?

they were made from 08/03-04/04 in various power models
However the daddy is the 2.8l (VR6) with 204bhp 4motion which ran from 05/01 - 04/04 in different forms for short runs in those periods 05/01-05/02 and 05/02 - 05/03 and 08/03 - 04/04 depending on the exact model
I'm surprised its not been properly done yet to be honest. I think its a shame the Seat marque hasn't got the following of the VW one for example... I was reading about the mk4 VR6 golf that was chopped into the mk1 golf the other week... literally, everything was cut out of the vr, chopped shorter and squeezed into the mk1 golf. Fabricated floor pan, boot pan, wheel arches, bulkhead, subframe, strut towers, the lot. Would be a whole lot less work to RHD convert the leon, or chop them into each other.
To be fair, my mum bought her VW Sharan as an import and paid to have it converted to RHD as it was cheaper than buying one here. The only reason you can tell now is because the blowers on the windscreen clear the LHS of the screen quicker than the RHS!
Maybe different but there was a mk4 r32 getting squeezed into a mk1 that i saw, that would be seriously quick!
I think your about Six years to late mate. but good thread resurrection though.
Your not wrong TBH.Haha, yeah, woops!
I've noticed on this forum most people seem to be reluctant to try to do things themselves, I also own a mk1 VW Caddy and on the caddy forum hardly anyone buys ready made parts, where as on here peple seem to think if its not made by Forge its not safe lol, i.e. the short shifter!
Having said that, I havn't been using this forum long so maybe I'm wrong...
i'm making everything for mine
i guess my old junker doesn't count though
