Ad - Second hand R32's start at about £9k. And they are TERRIBLE on fuel!! Driving sensibly, I get between 24 and 27mpg on a daily basis. It now takes just over £70 of fuel and does 300-330 miles on a tank. Whereas yours costs about £50 and should do ALOT more!!! Tyres for R32's are about £100 a corner. Every single thing for the R32 is double the price of your Ibiza. Not being funny, and I dont wanna sound like I'm having a go, but if you think your Ibiza is costing you alot, you REALLY dont want an R32!!!! Your Ibiza is group 7 insurance, R32 is 18. Every 2 years on the R32, you have to do the full 4wd (Haldex) service which is about £500-£600 notes! If you're deadly serious about an R32, send me a message on facebook and I'll be 100% honest with you on how much everything costs. But realisitcally, if you think the Ibiza is expensive I think the R32 is the wrong choice in car for you!

And the clutch and flywheel shouldn't cost you that much!! Unless your flywheel is noisy or you're getting judder, I honestly wouldn't bother putting a new DMF in just for the sake of it. Unless you're looking at more power in the future or you drive it hard.

Not having a rant Ad! Even though it sounds like it! Sorry! :ban:

People always say get the flywheel done at the same time thou, after labour it really does cost that much plus then after you will want the stage two map to go with it to make it worth it and that cost a fair amount too. Adam maybe you could fit it yourself thou or I bet like the techs I work with and cos my work is 24 hours there is no time or space to fix your car at work.

Adam, you need a Edition 30, not a R32 :D

ED30's are for people that can't afford an R32???? :p :cartman: On a serious note, I think the ED30's look nicer than the Mk5 R32!!!! And will be cheaper to run too.

Yes it's good practise to change it, but it's not neccessary. I'd have personally thought if he's got 310ft/lb on the map he's got, there's no point at all in wasting money on a stage 2 map, as you wont see much more torque, if any out of a standard turbo. Not without sending the turbo to the bin too!!!

I know how much clutches cost, I had 3 in my Ibiza so am well aware of prices!! I still would strongly suggest not going the SMF route though unless you want to run hybrid power. Just put a new friction plate in and put it back together!! I'd have thought if your flywheel was gonna give you jip, it'd be getting vocal and juddering by now. Which is what mine started doing. Hence, hybrid and SMF route. Then sold it less than a year later

And the ED30 is faster :D .......

If I wanted a R32 I would of bought one, Ash :p

ED30 is faster in the dry......lol! Only messing Damo.

R32's aren't quick cars by any means, but the V6 soundtrack is to die for. I personally think the Mk4 R32's are much nicer cars than the Mk5 R32's. Tbf, I dont think you can get better performance/economy than a PD130 Ibiza. You still get high 50 mpg's and good acceleration.

Back to topic I spose!

3 clutches Jesus why you sound like you can afford it thou?! Prices have gone up for parts and labour now thou remember :(

Standard clutch went, then had a clutch and SMF put in by "mistake" when all i wanted was an organic friction plate. Well done TSR Performance. So then that came out and a Sachs clutch went in with the DMF (didnt put a new DMF in and was fine!), then put a Helix and SMF in for hybrid power. So - 3 clutches!

Cheers ash i think i might stick with the seat for a bit longer lol id love a R32 but i no how much they cost to run so i think its a no no tbf i hate payin tax and fuel as it is and i hate payin out my insurance which is only £600 and a R32 is alot more lol

I could always push the boat out and buy a Evo that prob cost even more to run lol

Damo i dont think iv ever seen a ED30 round hear only at shows they are really nice cars and would love to have one but i bet they cost alot to run again lol

Aimez me and my mate are fitting the clutch kit and fly wheel im fitting a new fly wheel as knowing my luck it will go a few Ks down the road and then its remove it all again which i dont want to keep doing tbf.Im not having it mapped again i dont see the point tbf unless the turbo blows up then il see what happens but im not in no rush tbf if i come across a turbo at my dads work il get it lol

as for the price im setting a target for £1200 hopefully i should have a bit of change from it i got a price from TPS for a flywheel £433 so il be goin for that i think

A ED30 will cost circa the same amount as a R32 to buy but the ED30 will be cheaper to run.

Tyers are the same price but servicing and tuning prices are much cheaper. Tax is cheaper as is insurance (I think).

Pluss a £300 remap will take you to 300bhp D)

On my run to work which is currently 42 miles each way I can average 38mpg :)
