Got my car back last night fixed again. :funk: :D

Power-steering pump and new auxillary belt fitted. Also got my camber and tracking done at the same time, needed track rods and track rod ends as my old ones were all pitted etc. First time they have ever been done in the 11 years and a half years since the car left the factory.

Now running some good camber on the front now [B)], got it set to the maximum setting in the range for the car to compensate for my coilovers etc. Cant wait to have a proper drive now, just got to wait for the snow to disappear.

Then its starting work/purchases for next year.. I have already made some but more to follow.

So am I?? Soon as the battery light came on I knew the belt has disappeared and my first thought was 'Waterpump runs off that belt' and was waiting for it to overheat etc. But luckily the water-pump runs off the cam/timing belt, as does all the 'critical' engine components.

Looking forward to Spring 2011 when work/mods can begin. [B)]

Glad to see you're up and running again, Craig. I'd be interested to know about rust treatment too, I've got a few bits on the daily that need doing.

From personal motorbike rust treatment experience....
1. Wash the area thoroughly with degreaser to get any grease etc off.
2. With a wire brush or emery cloth clean all rust affected areas back to bare metal. (wire brush in a drill or grinder helps for large areas.
3. Now paint a light coat of kurust on to treat the rust.
4. Depending on the finish you want either spray or brush on primer
5. Again depending on finish spray top coat

If the rust is bad enough to have made holes you will need to cut out the affected area and have a patch welded in.

A while back I picked up some off-cuts of carbon fibre effect vinyl/material from a signmakers in the same industrial estate where I work.

I had a spare petrol cap that I had got so I came up with this:

I know that it isnt great but I want to see how it takes to everyday use and if it holds up ok then it will be re-done.

Opinions?

As its 2011 I have a few plans for the car this year. (hopefully!)

But before any mods are done the handbrake cable has to be changed and a rear coilover replaced as its leaking. And I am definetely getting my spoiler repainted and some bodywork done while I am on holiday for the first 2 weeks of June.

Heres a sneaky peak of something to come :p. (although ones in pics arent correct for my car!)

More to follow in the coming weeks/months! :D
