It's available from Halfrauds for something like 60p. "great White sponge" with a picture of a shark on the front. However, I find it does sometimes break up and leave White fragments on the interior. Don't know if I'm using too little water?

yeah it's kinda disposable i guess, i think if you use more water it will last longer. I only use it for on all the leather bits on the interior as it leaves a lovely matt finish.

Okay, so realised this morning I have a dud sidelight! I need some reliable ones which last longer than 4 months!!

Anyone got some nice bright white sidelights with a decent lifespan?

when i bought mine, i bought two sets for some reason i cant remember why! I have had mine in since august and had no problems with them. I'll send you the spare ones if you want?

That'd be awesome mate, what kind are they?

Just wondering what the postage would be like from top to bottom of the UK :p Might be cheaper to buy them direct lol. I suppose in the small envelope possible it wouldn't be much?

Cheers

can't remember the type tbh, they were quite expensive ones, cost me £12 for two packs, did'nt want to buy cheap ones and be left with them blinkering etc. If i am honest, they have a slight blue tint to them but nothing that bad, would match hids well. Postage, i would just put them in a normal envelope and post them as the original packaging is padded enough.

Sound good mate.

Still trying to sort my washer issue. The pump has slightly disconnect from the bottle, behind the front passenger arch lining. I'm unable to get the wheel nuts off using the standard wrench.. Any advice? Might head down to Kwik Fit tomorrow and ask them to loosen them for me....would they charge me much for this?

Well, my nuts are right inside the alloy (cupra alloys), so didn't want to really jump on them hard due to scratching the paint...

I tried more brute force, but didn't think about using 'shocks' like a hammer etc. Will try tomorrow morning before I venture to KwikFit.

i should not scratch the alloy, my alloys have the nuts 'inside the alloy' as well and it did not scratch, i am really careful with my alloys since they got refurbed as well. Not sure if the hammer will work, most likely to just bounce of the wrench.

bit of a random jump in here but nice car :) as for your wrench I had my old alloys tightened with a gun so when I went to undo them all I had to buy myself an extenable wrench to do it. even though I'm not the strongest of people so even that took a bit of effort for me! and as for your insurance my 2 years ncb on my 1.4s is £1038 so not major but my 1.2 Clio before was like £900 fully comp with mods (exhaust, aftermarket oz wheels and suspension)...but them being a female may have something to do with that!

Cheers :)

I reckon I'll buy an longer wrench just to stick in my boot; just in case of a flat, but i'll try a quick hammer on the wrench tomorrow morning.

Question is; Breaker bar or 4 way wrench?? And will I need an adapter if the breaker bar is 1/2" drive?

Both my wrench and sidelights should be here tomorrow, HOPEFULLY!

Was talking to my dad and apparently has a long socket set which I could use to undo the bolts, but seein as he doesn't get home till late I'll try to get it sorted for tomorrow; however the 4-way may be good enough!

I've had 2 sets of LED sidelights in the past. Tried 2 different types (1 left over from each dud pair). Compared, and can confirm the better styles.

This set seems to spread light throughout the headlight unit and are quite bright.

In comparison, this style is seriously crap! Only front facing light, and doesn't light the headlight unit at all!

I believe that the set I ordered is the same as Mick-FR's, and is coincidently the set I currently have at the moment.

Will post extra pics up once they arrive and are fitted.

What can I say, sounds familiar Chris! Sorry really shouldn't laugh.

All my lights fill from condensation after really wet weather, same with both front lights, including the new one on the passenger side from my twin headlamp conversion!

I've yet to tackle the rear light condensation, will probably hit it with some more packets of silica gel if possible.

Don't you love these Mk4s...

Got some better news. Even with my new 4-way wrench, my entire bodyweight on one side and hitting the other side with a mallet, NOTHING..

Will have to drive to Kwik Fit or somewhere tomorrow to get them to loosen the bolts...

ARGHHH. The only consolation is that I can't help but look at it after parking and thinking "yeah, not bad :)"

Okay. I popped into the local tyre garage (40m from my college!) and got a nice bloke to loosen the stuck bolts using a breaker bar :D Will be sorting it out on Friday (no time tomorrow).

The new sidelights also came, however am disappointed. I've realised, my old sidelights had 8 SMD chips rather than the 4 that I ordered. In comparison, the light output is quite front facing and weak, compared to the 8 SMD chip.

I just ordered more SMD sidelights (the best ones) so have ordered 3 pairs just to keep in the cupboard just in case (total £4.74 :D).
