Isn't it more to do with the independant rear suspension costing more to produce than the old beam set up so to keep the price down the interior isn't as nice?
Well even though I had first refusal, I didnt act quickly and it got sold the weekend.
I have no regrets as the options back is to basic for me. 4x lecy windows and climate need to be a minimum. The cruise i could have retrofitted for <200.
So I'll keep my eyes open for a Stylance +sports pack +aero kit in silver -- as they come along all the time !!!!!!!
But dont get me wrong, I'm so happy to keep my mark1 and she's a great car. Just side by side like that made her look a bit too inferior for my liking. And the Mk2 handles sooooo sweet.
I launched Owens white car and Keith had never driven a Cupra before, hence the difference in the start there. Best run vs best run on the day my car was only 0.1secs and 1mph slower than Owens white car. I got the records in both cars
The mkII will obviously be 'a better car' but only in terms of evolution. The likelyhood is that its so different its a completely different car.
It doesn't have the character of the MKI, its not as aggressive looking - it hasn't got the 'up for it' stance.
True to form, as with all modern cars, due to aerodynamics and pedestrian safety it now looks like a worn piece of soap. No offence intended to MKII owners, just MHO
