You're able to get 5000k versions of those :D http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/H4-New-Osram-..._CarParts_SM&hash=item45f41a1660#ht_718wt_911

I've basically taken a few pics just to show the colour of light and types of adjustment for best match between minimal road lighting and maximum plate visibility.

Too much road lighting;

Still a little too much;

Yep, easy as that. You basically have to tilt the light to a 45 degree angle towards the car. Imagine \ is the light pattern of the LED and | is the plate. Almost as if the light ain't even pointed at the plate, more above, at the fixings.

\ (light)
| (plate)

I personally couldn't recommend any of them, as I don't own any of them. I can only go from what the website and google tells me to be honest. I think the Nightbreakers are the brightest, however Cool Blue 5000k would be more HID-like, although not as bright. Just more blue.

I believe it's held under the jubilee clip...not sure! Definitely not sewn into the actually gear knob though. Can't remember :shrug:

Did you fiddle with the gear to make it loose, or was it just like that after you fitted the surround?

I guess you did reconnect the two clips at the back of the gaitor to secure the surround?
