Regarding clay bars, this is what I have and I recommend.

You get a nice big juicy 200g bar (cut it in half, half the bar should do the whole car once) and you don't need any lube. Just make sure the car is soaking wet, as Bilt Hamber bars are designed to work with water.

Sweet, cheers for the link. How often are you meant to clay the car, as £6.50 a pop seems quite expensive? If I only need to clay, then polish and wax (and it lasts several months) I'd be happy with that.

Do you notice a major difference when using clay?

think most people only clay their car about 2-3 times a year, and you will notice a huge difference in the feel of the bodywork after you clay

I personally clay my car once or twice a year. You know when the paintwork needs claying when the paintwork feels bumpy. Rub the back of your hand over your paint, if you feel small balls of dirt, the car needs claying.

As rf860 says, claying makes the paint silky smooth. Claying doesn't neccessarily make the paint glossier, but it does give you a cleaner surface prior to polishing and waxing, which can only be a good thing! :D

Hah, could I be any less aware?

I've considered altering it, but mods such as modified suspension, backbox, filters etc will add dramatically to my already £2300 premium... A non-standard filter would cost me £179 to put on, and about £200 for a different exhaust >.<

£2500 for insurance! Holy Mother of God! How old are you?
I'm 24, 2 years NCB, with my GF on the policy I'm £320 fully comp.
When I passed my test at 18 mine was never any higher than £700...

On another note, that HD wax looks wicked, I bought some Meguirs Paste Wax a while back and I thought that was good!

Was with Direct Line for years but they wanted over £500 renewal for the two of us, so I went with Admiral, and my premium will go down soon when my girlfriend changes her policy over to Admiral too and we'll get the 10% discount thing...
I'm just wanting to see what happens next summer when I go to renew as bu then I'll be over 25 - that magical number!

I AM with Admiral :cry::cry::cry:

My renewal in October will be £2200......that's with 1 year NCB and licence for 5 months........................and they don't even count Pass Plus, so that's £200 down the drain!

Also I don't really have much in the way of mods that are worth mentioning...
Non legal headlights (HID's) ?? Colour coded mirror caps / front bumper ?? Chrome vent rings?? Haven't bothered mentioning as they aren't that important...

I'd definitely mention the headlight bulbs tbh... as that is in the modifications list on the Admiral online quote :/

Nah, not going to mention them as they aren't legal.
Retro fitting Xenon lamps into a headlight unit designed around halogen based bulbs isn't legal...

However I've had mine go through two MOT's and never been pulled by the fuzz for them either.

Also I'm not going to mention them as they're only worth about £50 in total, all the parts I bought off eBay separately was cheaper at the time than buying a kit.
Ballasts where £15.99 each and I got the bulbs for £19.95 with the rekay wiring all with free postage.

It's not the fact that you won't get paid for them if you get your car written off... but the fact that ANY mods that aren't declared can cause your insurance to be made null and void, and gives them a perfect excuse to not pay out a penny! Better off being honest. Plus, IIRC Admiral only offer a tick box for "uprated bulbs".

Mmmmm ... I didn't see that option as I done my quote / policy over the phone.

Thoroughly disappointed with the LED festoon bulbs I just fitted.... The numberplate ones are good, but for some reason the interior lights are not very bright!!! Both cabin reading light and boot light.... Plus they were both too small for the interior, so going to buy some new ones...

Added Cupra Red vent switches today, look the DB's!! Match the red lining on the handbrake gaitor, red design "S" on steering wheel and aircon controls.

Will be fitting aluminium gear surround tomorrow/thursday, when it arrives, and pics of all new bits will be added!

Try to find some Audi TT pedals at the moment, they're selling at around £35 on ebay but trying to find a cheaper set.

Chris, I read on another Ibiza forum (mentioning no names!) that the TT pedals are only £29 from Audi themselves. I believe you ask for the following part numbers:
TT Clutch Pedal – 8N0721174A01C
TT Brake Pedal – 8N0721173A
TT LHD Accelerator Pedal – 8N1721647B

Apparently the TT RHD pedal doesn't fit Ibizas.

As I say it's second hand info from another forum so don't hold me to it, but I just thought I'd let you know. ;)
