Called in today not impressed, the showroom is tiny with 3 seat cars a bmw z4 and some jeep in there, only salesman was busy with somebody interested in the ibiza fr in the showroom, they even have a sign on the door saying its not up to scratch classic !, i dont understand why vw dealers are not allowed to handle seats unless they have a separate seat showroom and yet the seats can share a showroom with non vw brands like jeep in chester or nissan in oswestry, i have a vw garage within walking distance but have to travel miles to crewe to a decent seat one.....

Daughter's Ibiza broke down near Oswestry. SEAT Assist got it going but then had to escort her to Crewe via Chester as that's the only dealer in the area. Took 2 hours as he was driving a Land Rover!!
Ridiculous that they couldn't have gone to VW dealership or that the AA man couldn't do a warranty repair.

I helped her choose Ibiza and she likes the car but servicing and repairs at the Crewe dealer has been awful, and the car miserably failing MOT at 4yrs on top of it breaking down 4 times (not the dealers fault) is just unforgiveable.

LC Charles is a lottery to what service you get

Sometimes Cracking , Sometimes really poor

IMG In Warrington are rubbish too.

The best in the North West is Hobins in Preston IMO

Hi we are the new dealer i chester, apologies to the guy who came in early jan we are new dealers and still in a transition moving from chrysler jeep to SEAT so the showroom not ideal when you came in, it looks a bit different now ,check out my post reference the open weekend on the 23rd and 24th of january. Would be great to see any local SEAT owners, I will be introducing a Cupra.net members discount scheme shortly so keep checking.

Would be great to see any local SEAT owners,

Should be a good opportunity for you in Chester and the surrounding area as SEAT's are pretty thin on the ground in the area.

My daughter likes her Ibiza which she bought but I directed her towards. But servicing and unexpected and unwelcome extra cost has embarrassed me. Being sold a servicing package but then charging extra for brake-fluid change is sharp practice and failing MOT due to the rear brakes needing servicing at our expense when they're not even in the service schedule is poor on SEAT's part. SEAT should be embarrassed that a fully dealer serviced car would fail MOT at such a young age - instead the dealer just used it to screw more money out of us.

The car could do with being changed soon but I don't know if we'd look at SEAT again.

Not only that but any but any other customer service skills greater than a grunt or a sniff of snot on your sleeve then you will go far if you are based in the immediate North West.

Welcome..

A bit of dealer competition is always welcome, especially as Seat owners in the North-West have a pretty limited choice. As previously mentioned, offering discounts to members on here will obviously help matters...

Great news the drive to Crewe was a pain, but I have not had any problems with the service.
Planning to pop in this weekend for a look, here there will be a couple of WTCC cars about.

Chester
popped into the chester dealership the other week and was NOT impressed.

I had an empty can of quantum platinum oil i bought from the VW garage around the corner last time and i asked the sales guy, after waiting ages, if they stock it only to be told they don't stock that type of oil?? where as it is on the shelf in the VW garage.

The guy then tried to tell me the only oil they stocked was for the new seats and is fine for 03 cupras (different grade to what i had and asked for) and said it would be fine for my car, i just walked straight out and went to the VW garage again.

I won't be taking my car here for servicing as they will probably use different oil than what you ask for if this is anything to go by and didn't seem interested or know anything about older (2003) leon cupras

do TPS sell to the general public at this branch?

I don't know - that's why I asked if you'd tried buying from them! :)

It seems some branches do and some don't - it probably depends on who serves you and how dirty your overalls are!

Oh well, that didn't last long - Chester SEAT have gone bust.

Wonder how much of an effect poor service from SEAT UK has on the brand? There must be many people like us who've had one new SEAT but would never buy another due to SEAT UK.

It's the same thing that gave Alfa a bad name. The cars were good but the dealers are crap.
