A shock to some of you, but the batmobil has gone, and I am now driving round in a near mint condition 2001 B5.5 Silver Volkswagen Passat Estate 130 TDI Sport

Not sure what happened there:cartman:

Unfortunately due to moving out next year, and saving money, the monster had to go for something more economic. I was sad to see her go, but not sad about the fuel bills I use to incur running her and its like a financial noose lifted from my neck:D

So, I picked up the passat with 147k on the clock for £2950. Slightly higher mileage than I had wanted, but from other passats with 30k less on the clock that I had seen, this one is in fantastic condition, with full service history and MOT's throughout. I am very pleased with her (especially after viewing a passat which after some research on the VOSA website had been clocked near 40k)

I have got a very rare addition (none others like it on Autotrader in the price bracket I was looking at) which has the added extras of:

Sunroof
Steering wheel stereo controls
Cruise control
Glovebox which turns into a coolbox (I think this is an extra)
6 disc CD Changer
Headlight Washers

The car is standard throughout.

Few Mods on her already:

Pressed Plates with Stuttgart emblem stickers
Number Plate Surrounds
AMD Stg1
Green Panel filter
Debadged
Fabia wiper but now decided to dewiper her
STG3 Machine Polish (Thanks JonJay)
HID's
Badgeless Grill
Tinted Rear & Front lights
SCN Sticker

Mods to come:

Remove tow bar
Dewiper rear
Remove roof rails
Order missing engine cover
Spray engine covers white
Carbon pieces
AMD Stickers
Eibach Lowering springs
Gloss black vinyl roof
Gloss black vinyl mirror covers
17" TT Comps

I have learnt a lot from my last car, as it was a very extreme modified example....too much now in hindsight.

This is going to be OEM with a twist, keeping along with the clean and simple lines and overall look of the car

That is a surprise mate. Will look forward to seeing what you turn it into. Pics asap please ;)

Thanks mate

Yes its erm, very different to what I am use to. Already fallen in love with it, and its a great platform to work from. Looking forward to keeping it standard, but with a twist.

Anyways, the other half would kill me for spending mega money on it like I did with the Leon. House is my priority now which I am really looking forward to.

Hopefully the HID's will be here tomorrow and the plates soon as well.

oi Walstow, you can be the beer sherpa for the shows now mate. :D

Cracking car, I've had about 50 of them as hire cars over the years and they are brilliant.

Nice one mate, my wife has a Passat 130 TDI sport Estate and we paid £2400 on a Y plate with 110,000, it also has cruise, steering wheel stereo controls, heated seats, aircon in the glovebox, auto dim mirror, and the ull height display you get on some VW'S.
Got probs with Limp mode at the moment, should find out the cause tomorrow.
I've driven it and i'm sure it's been mapped as when it's on boost at around 2k it flys and i reckon it's quicker than my FR 150 TDI LEON.

Get some pics up mate be good to see it;)

Slam it in its 'arris and get some decent rimmage on, job jobbed as they say
Pissrats look just the absolute when they're low and leary

:D

If you can persuade the other half then fine....if I did it without permission I would be using a wheel chair from then on!! This is a sensible vehicle (I keep telling myself)

Dont get too excited...

Needs a lot of tidying, but some nice standard bits which can be polished:)

That looks very clean mate! They really are great cars I think. I suspect when I no longer want my ibiza i'll get one lol. I just love estate cars!

Thanks mate

Yes she is a very clean example indeed. Seats are being properly steam cleaned this weekend and she is getting a thorough polish and wax.

HID's arrived today (ordered yesterday morning), excellent service, and my Stuttgart emblems arrived as well.

Just waiting on the pressed plates to arrive.

Next up is to order some genuine VW center caps as the current ones have all peeled.

After my holiday my wheels will be reconned. Perhaps in a slightly darker silver or anthracite, but still sticking with the OEM size

Thanks mate

I am so glad I got the estate

trying to think of a theme to apply to her. Did the whole red and black and sticker wh0re scheme on the Batmobil, but need something more subtle and tasteful on this one
