And to think I spent 2 hours cleaning, hoovering and polishing the car yesterday to impress the examiner.....

All the nice cheerful guys went to the young girls sat next to me in the waiting room, and I get the old fat bloke, lacking any sort of emotion and had the charisma of a stone, along with the "librarian" style glasses..... Pompous :censored: .

Anywayy yeah, looks like this exhaust business ain't gunna be cheap or easy.....

My brother's was literally a clip-on job, which took 2 minutes and cost about £20 >.<

Any idea how much the welding/labour to add on a similar backbox as Scotty? (I've already been offered a similar one for £35, just need to get it fitted...)

Exhaust tip

Similar to that, but official Fiat part I think...

shame mine is downwards pointing >.<

What'd be the price to get a backbox welded?

I'm debating fitting the exhaust tip as in the link above. Like yourself Chris I have a downward facing exhaust and would like people's opinions on them.

Perhaps if you just cut the exhaust to straight you might be able to get a tailpipe end which is long enough to reach the back of your new cut out valance that you will require? This way it will look more convincing anyhow because you wont see the original tailpipe because it is attached to the rear of the tailpipe end. Just a thought!

I'll phone up Parts @ Wiltshire's tomorrow and check for the correct valance.

So in the short term, I'm looking to get the LCR splitter, new rear valance, Cupra valance and some fancy alloys; and perhaps the same handbrake cover as Scott.. :)

Nahhh, don't you remember the kids rhyme?

First the worst, second the best, third the one with the hairy chest ;P

I've had many people tell me best drivers past second time, obviously I'm just an exceptional example. lol ;)

Ahh well, I checked the insurer's website, and I think being robots without a single piece of car-knowledge, they don't differentiate between exhaust parts. They just tick new exhaust system >.<

So I guess I'm sticking without the backbox until October when my no claims comes round. Can't believe how much my insurance went up though once I passed my test.... increased the balance by £322.14 for the REMAINING 5 months! Such a rip! Technically costing me £2700 annually........

My brother's insurance on his Grande Punto went from £1800 down to £800 with 1 years NCB, so I guess I can hope!!
