You may also need to set the duration to more than 0 seconds, not sure where, in some adaption somewhere, same module as you turned the leaving home on.

Dan, spot on buddy, i got my fancy chinese cable this morning, faffed about and found exactly what you described above. I think it was Byte 2 in the adaption field of module 09, was set to 0, now set to 40, works a treat.

chirp chirp, loving the Vag-Com, thanks for all the info posted on this guys, good stuff. Had a fault code for exhaust sensor, cleared OK though, prob should get it looked at on next service. Also tried to set the wing mirrors to dip when in reverse, but no worky (think you need memory seats...).

Just ordered the cable from this thread, Then I need a copy of the 704... vag-com.

I'm no PC genius but I understand that I need to download a torrent file and then unzip it. I'll give it a go but expect me to be on here in a muddle :(

Nath, didn't I send you it a bit a go?

But yeah, you need a torrent downloader such as bitlord then download it through that programme. The file is in RAR format so it will need to be unzipped using winzip.

double click on the download in winzip and it should start up the installation process. When prompted to install usb drivers do so.

I've downloaded bitlord and I think I have dowloaded vag-com. I'm going to have a go at downloading winzip and see if I can open vag-com.

As you can see I don't really know what I'm doing

I had vag-com working on my old Ibiza, I bought a cable from ebay, downloaded vag-com from rosstech (some link I was sent that they said would work) and I was away.

just replied to your PM so try what I said there.

Like I say will be in the bitlord download folder so should come up in a system search under VAG-COM

Spenny,

Were you using Parallels or VMWare? I only have these, do not have a single PC in the house so I was really hoping it would work through one of these!

I'm interested as well but if I need to I'll use bootcamp instead

Don't really want to buy a Windoze laptop if I can avoid it

i have used vmware. It didnt work at first but I think i was simply rushing it. As you will know it can be hard to get some usb devices to load in vmware instead of the mac os. I think that was my problem. PLug you cable in, leave it 30 seconds then click in the virtual machine several times to make sure when you plug the cable in it loads through the virtual machine

Got mine working fine. So far have:

Reduced Coming Home lights to 20secs (down from 40)
Activated the Beep when Unlocking/Locking.
Auto Up and Down Windows with the Key Fob.
Boot now "pop's" open when the boot button is pressed on key fob.
Turned off the double click to open all doors. (That pissed me off!)

Also noticed you can turn off the "Cold Diagnostics" on each light unit. Meaning LED's etc hopefully wouldnt flag up as bulb out warnings.

Still playing about with it, done a scan, all my door electric windows were out of sync and had errors, so reset that and "re-programmed" the Auto Touch Window functions. Now all clear, minus my radio!
