Had a look at removing the arch lining and it appears to be connected to a huge section which protects the underside of the car so having second thoughts about removing it! I'll adopt your method and cut the 'pilot hole' the car has kindly decided to carve for us :D haha.

Remember seeing the vagowners stand, but didn't notice the OOPs on the S3 so it must have been well hidden.

The 7 hour shift is a killer and I'm conviced my hair is getting thinner but I have no choice as its my final year and need to do the work. It'll all be infront of you so enjoy while you can (or escape)!

Took the following picture on my way home from uni (should have used a tripod but I left it at home-sorry)
DSC_0498.jpg

Realy bugging me that the car is sitting so high despite coilovers being wound to the max and adjustors removed from the rear. Might invest in a set of custom springs to drop it a little further and remove helper spring from the front as I can't afford air-ride.

Apart from that I'm not going to spend any additional money on the car as I plan on purchasing something new as soon as I graduate and find a job.

Cool looking pic  I agree that Ibizas in general sit high. I have the adjusters out of the rear of mine, and it sits ok, but with 16's there'd be a bit of arch gap. On the front, I can't really go any lower without arch modding, yet the front bumper is miles off the ground! My mates Mk3 golf bumper is closer to the floor than mine and his arch gap is comparatively huge!

The Ooops! sticker on the S3 was on the passenger wing lol, fairly noticeable :p all fixed now though, back to its former glory.

So what car would you be looking at next? Something VAG?

Cheers man, took it at 9pm so quite surprised how light it came out. I'm in the exact same situation- it's certainly a strange car to lower!

As much as I love the VAG range, I might be tempted to go jap (hold the abuse) as everyone seems to be buying a VW or something similar these days. A 350z would be cool as theres quite few floating about on stanceworks.com and they're a realy bad influence on me....but insurance would be another matter at group 20!

lol, group 20?! They're only a Nissan after all! They do sound lush with a nice exhaust though. Lowered with a nice set of deep dish wheels, that's all they really need to look awesome :D

A couple of my friends cars were on stanceworks not long ago, I'll see if I can find the link.

It's hard to justify the group 20, even harder when people still call them datsun haha! But as you said, lowered and some sweet wheels (would have to be Rays) and its an instant win.

I remember seeing the white G60 Rado on there, I believe the owner is called Rob. Is that the one your thinking of? That car looks uber sick.--------it was the white g60 :D

Yeh thats Rob's car. He's on here every now and then as his gf has an LCR. The Corrado has had so much work done to it, a full engine build with forged rods etc, aquamist and smoothed bodywork all over, although he didn't do all of that. Somewhere around 260+ bhp from a 1.8 8v G60 lol.

People still call a GTR a Datsun, but I can see why thats a group 20 lol. I can't say I know much about Jap cars but the 350Z's do look good with a few choice mods.

I have a slight fetish for the VW Corrado and it certainly ticks all of my boxes. Infact cancel that 350z! Just had an insurance quote and they're all over £3000....so it doesn't look promising haha.

On a lighter note, my full front mask came through the post this morning which could possibly be the first on a MK4 Ibiza as I'm yet to see one anywhere. Was planning on respraying the front end but it depends if I decide to keep the car or not.

Another photograph of the car taken Sunday:

Can't say I've seen a full front mask for an Ibiza before, so I can't really imagine what it'll look like lol. Wouldn't mind a respray myself, black shows up all the stone chips really well :( could do with having the rear bumper done as well since I reversed into a post a couple of years ago lol. I managed to crack the paintwork, tho noone can really see it except me!

£3000 for insurance is just crazy! At least it's put you off the Jap scene for now tho ;)

well nice! love the pics

Only just seen this thread! Great looking car! Love the wheels :D

How low is it roughly?

Thanks guys.

Not sure in measured terms but the front coilovers are wound to the bottom and the adjustor cups have been removed from the rear. I'll get the tape measure out later and throw some figures your way :D.

It'll probably look stupid but its there to serve a purpose haha. Those poles just sneak up on you :D. I also managed to reverse into something before, so I just stuck a sticker over the damage and if you can't see it- it never happened. Black does show everything but it looks so good when clean...until you drive it and it gets dirty again within the first mile. A love/hate relationship.

Front arch to the floor: 22inches
Rear arch to the floor: 22.8inches

Hmmm, my front is 22.5inches and rear is 22inches. Will have to do something about that, I don't like the front being higher than the back!

You got adjuster cups out?

Yeh adjustor cups have been removed from the rear. Have yours been removed? Mind if I ask what coilovers your using and how much thread you have remaining....they sound tempting? :D

Your rear end might be slightly lower if your carrying extra weight in the boot. Easily resolved with the right tool.

I have FK Silverline X's, only chose them cos they're stainless and go the lowest lol :p thay have adjustable damping too, but its wasted on me, plus changes don't feel like they make any difference. In the boot I have my spare wheel and tool kit (obviously lol) and a sub and amp, although they're not that heavy I don't think, it's only a 10" sub!

My adjuster cups are out on the rear so I'm stuck there really. Loads of adjustment left on the fronts, I reckon another 2" nearly!

I was a bit optimistic here... only 0.5" left on the front so I used it and chopped a bit of the arch away whilst I was at it. Now I'm at 22" arch to floor, front and rear.

Impressed with how quick you get on with things. Glad you dropped the front, nothing worse than reverse rake. Ahhh FK's, my friend Dave always gloats that he has a set :censored:! They're certainly worth the money by the look of it.

After discussing arch height, decided to take a photograph of the front section just for illustration purposes :D
