that is awsome

nice work there :D

thanks , more update soon. this is so far 2 month work on the car + me a few months preparing parts , cleaning, polishing, etc - 18 months or so .

The work you do not see

1. new pedalbox to take clutch pump .
2. relocation of engine 14 mm forward + steering rack 10 mm backward- to be able to locate transfer case and propshaft + bushing
3. deletion of rear gearbox mount, using and fabricating plate for mk 4 golf top side mount for the gb
4. completely new engine bay wiring harness from ViPec 44 to engine
5. boring head + valve cover for bmw m3 cop
6. use of new abf flywheel + vr6 ( both 228 mm ) pressure plate + s2 clutch with 5 puck ceramic plates
7. flyweel machined for 60-2 signal and use of standard abf sender
8. instal of s3 shifter cable + shiftbox .
9. the rear axle is a hanful to install - it is wider than the chassis legs , longer from mount to hub.... it needed relocation from standard fixing points - lower and more to the front .

It works out not to be an easy conversion , but.... it is not the time to give up , is it

I just wish I had the skills to do the 4WD conversion. Even mounting the rear axle square and in the right place is bad enough, making it strong enough to stay where it needs to be sounds like a right nightmare.

Hallo

long time since last post , but well worth it .

after a hectic summer we managed to get the car on the road on 29.06.2010 at o.9 bar , where i started to rum it in on mineral oil . after doing a 1500 mile run in period we managed to do a dyno on Saturday , and started dialing in the boost . the result was 347bhp at the wheels at 1.7 bar , but we went safe to 1.6 - 327 hp. ( again , help me add the dynograph )

all this on gt2871r 0.63 AR .

the car came to exactly 1210 kg on the road , with some fuel in it. pretty awesome. there is still a lot to be done on the car - paint , cage, brakes, oil cooler.....

can you suggest a performance brakepads for standard 280mm brakes until i sort out a decent brake conversion .
