Well i was off work today as im ill . Figgured i'd have a tinker under the bonnet to pass the time
First off i got the airbox out and had a look at it. I found the plastic inlet surround at the front was removable so i binned this for starters as it opened up the inlet. Next was to drill some holes in the lower part. I made sure to only drill holes in the wing side (cold side) too
Next i binned the paper filter and dropped in a nice K&N cotton filter
Now looking at the upper part i see a neck that reduces the induction pipe ID. This has to go
First i unscrewed the AFM and removed the rubber o-ring. Then i pulled out the horrible reducer. When refitting the o-ring and AFM i used abit of gasket sealer to get a good seal
Car sounds better but can't say i notice any performance gains
Hope i feel better in the morning for work
