sorry what is the N249 and where is this

I'd have a search about mate there are loads of threads about the N249 valve

ontop of the engine, follow the pipe from the Dump valve to a box, that is the n249

cheers ive just tryed my mates 007 and done 10 miles and it chattered once and also found that when my finger is on the nipple at the top of mine i can push the piston up couldnt do this with my mates 007

N249 controls the vaccum to the valve so would make it open, chatter is the valve no opening in my opinion.

chattering is the valve not opening, ive got the dv pipes blocked on mine for constant chatter

Blocking the pipes won't do the turbo much good.

i was just backing up your theory

turbo is on its last legs anyway, got another engine to rebuilt while i wait for it to go bang

surely preventative maintenance is better than rebuilding an engine?
