A little smoke wouldn't bother me, i had a BMW 1 Series 120d M Sport befor my Leon and there was little smoke, think modern disels are much better, see more smoke out of petrols sometimes.

Has anyone used P-Torque or Custom Code for this, i've noticed Noble has his done at Custom Code just wondering if anyone has used P-Torque for the DPF removal.

I have the DPF delete mod done on my car. Car is 6 weeks old and 1200miles. The way I looked at it was this. New DPF £1200 quid or so, delete pipe and work done £800 or so. Never seen the DPF light on once but I didn't want to see it on either. Plus I wanted more power, and for this the DPF must go. You take your chances with warranty etc. But if the sh#t really hits the fan it can be returned to standard.

As for smoke, it really very minimal. My old Ibiza sport 130 put out more.

DPF Removal potential drawbacks

My wife runs a Leon FR170TDI and although weve have only had the DPF light on now and again I'm seriously considering DPF removal as more power and in particular much better mpg really appeals.

My concerns are that she previously had a Bora 150 mapped to around 190 BHP and 270ftlb torque, but within months the clutch started and it did produce a little more smoke. As Ive seen figures of 220+BHP and 340+ftlb torque quoted after DPF removal I was intertested to hear from anyone who's had it done whether they have had to go for a Sachs uprated clutch and new flywheel with all that expense. What is the tyre wear like and the smoke produced. ?

Last question I promise. Ive got a 3 serious coupe with 231BHP and 369ftlb and can't imagine that sort of shove through 2 front wheels. Is the car still driveable in anything below 4th gear?

Thanks

amd. im on the way there in next few weeks as my 57 leon fr (derv) has fuked its dpf up afta 32k miles....... really annoyed about this not being under warranty. sems a pointless task inventing the dpf...(or they realesed it too early)

if you have a map on the car allready they charge 200 (half price/norm 400)
if you dont its 400 for the map
then they have to supply and install the bypass pipe which they charge 400 for.

so 600 quid for me... better than 1300 and 1500 i got qoted from two differnt seat dealers for replacing the dpf, thats without there rip-off labour charge's.

anyway.. onwards and upwards.

One of the major companies is custom code (for the mapping) and JBS who work in conjunction.
For the downpipe made by milltek. They used to advertise on here but no longer. Try googling JBS and see for an idea on price.
Other companies are now doing it along with the milltek pipe generally.. look in the sponsors area

bit pricey

i basically want a little more shove but a fair bit more mpg, is dpf removal really the only way about getting additional mpg? or could i get a remap

Never get that combination....

Had the DPF removed from mine and to be honest the mpg hasnt really improved, if anything it has dropped slightly on my same journey...

Has lots of power though!

You can get economy remaps that reduce power to save juice but do you really want to have a 170bhp knocked down to 150bhp as an example

no i know if i use the torque i dont, but people say dpf removal increases mpg a lot?

i dont want to lose any power no, i could stick with 170 but more economy but i dont know if they do that? most remaps improve power and mpg a little bit so surely theres one that maintains power and improves mpg?

na, it doesnt, ask most people that had the DPF removal about the same time as I did, e.g. BIGG Addicted, AndrewB, jrsmooth etc

I got a gain of 2mpg when driving normally but soon as you hit a hill where you use a bit accelerator then it drops about 2mpg below what i was getting.

So over all it works out the same ish mpg with more power

If you are after MPG then buy an economy map with DPF delete. Have you tried ECU Remap up in Newcastle? They are agents for DNA Tuning who is one of the UK's best VAG software writers.
