Just had a phone call saying my ibiza is being recalled for a "non urgent" correction.

1: Gear stick cap (the plastic part on the top that shows the gears).
2: Airbag cable.

My gearstick cap snapped off a few months ago, and got reattatched at the dealership, so im guessing thats why that 1 is being recalled, not sure about the airbag cable though.

Not heard anything, but then, i did't hear anything about the previous two that mines had corrected, (airbag connection and brake something or other)

funnily enough, I noticed the other day actually that the gear stick cap was a bit loose.

They said when they opened it up to have a look the air bag connector just fell apart. They had to keep it over night. Should be fixed today.

It also needs a new windscreen as the scuff (looks like a trainer skid mark right in my line of sight) can't be buffed out..

Not to happy, especially as i'm on temp insurance (£25 a day) until i'm 25.. (20th of this month). I'll have to insure the car again Saturday to go pick it up..

I know its crazy! Not long now though. At least I can drive about on Saturday!

pi$$ed off at Admiral TBH. Got a quote a while back for 24 4years NCD and it came out at £517. Did it a month later £870!!! If I wait until the 20th is renewal time and i'm 25 so Greenlight will do it for £520 fully come protected NCD. Adrian flux £1500... FAIL!

Yeah and Adrian Flux is supposed to be the best to go to for modified and high performance vehicles. Their quotes are a joke.

ha i insued my mk4 fr with them first year i had it
they quoted me £800 fine took it, month later they said actualy no we want another £100 off you cus ur under 25 not happy but alright payed it

they made a mistake and refunded me £100 instead so i had to fone em back and then pay em £200.

id avoid at all costs most decent insurance companys wont increase your premium for mods
i told my current insurer (churchill) that id remapped my mk4 fr n they just said o ok
no increase cost watsoever!

oh and when i swapped the inurance on to my new fr it costs me an extra £20 year + adding my girlfriend on the insurance cost another £12 for the year
and she had a claim last year too!

Mine is now sorted. It was an air bag connector. Not sure if this is the same thing. They said it was only on normal ibiza's but I find it strange that it would be different on the FR,s Boc and Cupras?

Should I be ringing up my dealership to ask if these issues need sorting on my 1.6TDi? Got the car beginning of Jan this year.
