Very true, 4wd is the best option if price isnt an issue, but many new hot hatches such has focus rs megane r26 are front wheel deive with lsd and do a very good job of putting power down, although I agree with you r32 will put power down alot better, i've been in one in the wet and its pretty seemless traction. Also when you set of with a car with a lsd it helps not just when entering/exiting corners.

I know it does help a bit on the straight, but it's not worth the £1000 odd price tag imo!

I've never actually been in an R32 - so very much looking forward to my first test drive this weekend!

good look with the sale which r32 are you after mk5 or 5

Mk4! :) Mk5's done look as nice inside or out imo and the tax is crazy! So Mk4 is best all round! :D

how do you find your yokohama tyres in the wet?
also how have they worn fast or slow?
as im starting to need 4 new tyres and im unsure what tyres to get and yokohamas and toyos seem to be the favorite for the ibiza.

i would stay away from them i had them on my ibiza and were pretty scary in the wet, great in the dry tho i would go for toyo t1r for the money there great :)

how was the test drive??

As expected, better/worse?

I want to say it wasnt as quick as the Ibiza - but I'm not sure! The needle does move quite nicely, but it's very smooth constant power. Literally you touch the throttle and it want to snap your head off! It'd take some getting used to! The Ibiza is MUCH more manic power. Much more push back in your seat power - much more frantic! But the R32, I booted it in 2nd in the wet and you couldnt tell it was slightly wet. Yes the fuel consumption is crap, but when cruising I saw 58 on the momentary mpg!

If the Ibiza sells in time - I'll buy it :)

Yokohama's are terrible in the wet! REALLY scary! Torque steers everywhere - which can be fun. But also can be hairy if you dont know how to wrestle it ;)

As said - amazing in the dry! :D

Ive got parada spec 2's on mine and i havnt driven it in the dry yet. I think they are really good in the wet so far though, better than the toyo's i had on before them by miles. Think you two with your big turbo ibizas must have been booting it about in the wet with them like it was dry :p

Good luck with the sale matey. Bet the r32 was awesome, they sound so so good!

See I cannot stress how useless they are in the wet enough! You hit a slight puddle, they aquaplane, you turn into a corner slightly faster than granny - you go straight on. You come on boost, they light the tyres up at 90mph! Get terrible torque steer as they just do not grip!

Good luck! I'd rather smear my wheels with butter than buy these tyres again!

And yes - if I get the R32 I'll put a thread on here....it'd be rude not too :)

A few of my friends have also once the novelty of mainly the noise wears off. I think its because the GTI's are quicker

If it does then I'll have to sell it on and change again!

Depends which GTi you're on about. The 115bhp 2.0? The 1.8t 150bhp? They can be quicker yes. But that's like saying my Ibiza is quicker. As stock they arent.

Here's the offending car anyway:
