I have them on my Altea (225/45/17) and they are very good. I can get up my street without seeing the TCS light. On the GY F1's it was on all the time.
They feel alot better when it's just cold and wet as well.
I have the V rated Vreds - driving home today in thick snow on back roads from South Elmsall to Huddersfield they were fantastic. Roads were deserted and haven't been grittted at all round here - only bit of wheel spin was when setting off from stationary on inclines.
If I didn't have these I'd be stuck in Wakefield or the M62 now along with quite a few others.

Hehe, this is funny reading to me... we must use proper winter tyres like "Nokia Hakkapeliitta 7" (google it if you want) that really grip on snowy or icy surfaces.

I'm well aware of the Nokians but studded tyres aren't practical in the UK, with dubious legality.
If winters like this one in the UK become the norm I can only hope winter tyres are brought to the public conscious - the number of abandoned cars on what was nothing more than a few inches of snow was shocking.

I'm really appreciating my winter tyres at the moment. Only trouble is you find yourself fearful of those without them sliding into you!
I went down a size from the stock 17" alloys to 16" steel rims and bought some (relatively) cheap trims to keep the missus happy. I can recommend my tyres - Michelin Primacy Alpin PA3 205/55 R16s - for those looking for a nice replacement for winter months which don't compromise on comfort. They're quieter (in normal conditions) than the stock Pzero Rossos, although I've noticed they make a subtle whining noise through big patches of standing water. They're very good on snow covered roads too although I can't compare them to the Vreds or any other winter tyres, as these are the first set that I've ever used.

Fair enough, i thought mine were V rated but had a look at mytyres and there W same as yours.
do you run these vreds only cause of snow or all the way through winter. ive got brand new sets of goodyear f1 assys and obviously i cant use them on snow. i dont know what to do should i buy a set of vreds or what?
I would purchase a full set if you're plumping for winter tyres. I would think mixing winter/summer tyres would result in some hair-raising corners, at least.
Bugger that size must be a few quid each, the Dunlop Wintersports were £165 each on stock 225/45 R17 92V XL.
I know that the Vreds are a bit cheaper compared to the usual suspects and were the No. 02 choice.
Nov to March is when they're on and as Craig Snr states they do work well in the cold as well as the wet conditions (better than a summer tyre).
