Just got 360 out of mine, was sitting on empty when I refilled it. Most of it was going to bournemouth and back motorway miles. It has had an oil change recently as well

im not sure where this leaves me, but i filled my car right upto the cap last tuesday, and early hours wednesday morning i went down to norfolk, a 4hour journey from where i live, and when i checked the trip reading it said 230 and that was only on half a tank. the second half did not do so well on the way back lol!

I recently got 32MPG from 15 quids worth of fuel, mixture of town/country driving... :(

I don't drive everywhere with my foot nailed to the floor, but little things like holding onto revs too long, and occasionally flooring it to overtake, make a HUGE difference.

As a trial, i'm filling it to the brim with Optimax/V power, then giving it Redex treatment. i'm also adjusting my driving style, things like coasting up to junctions/roundabouts, changing up before 3K RPM, being gentler with the clutch etc..

I'll report back to see what i can get it to :)

Knight - that is impressive. I have never done that. Just out of interest when you fill up do you vent? I think mine has such a small tank as £35 (ish) fills it up...

no never vent, i usually get about 43 litres in there...tank is 45!

i always reset my number 2 mpg when i fill up, then i know the mpg of the tank, as it never resets untill you manually do it!

i just drove like a granny to see if i could do it....got 62.7mpg this morning for 16 miles to owrk..was clear so maintained almost 60 the whole way....

the trip computer is not 100% accurate however!

i average about 400+ to a full tank with my 1.2, i did have a massive drop when i fitted my k&n and back box ( only did 250 - 300 i worked it out to be), due to back pressure i believe i was told but i could be wrong.

Right, well i'm confussed now. I'm getting piss poor results for my derv, and i'm not even driving like a plonker. Usually get around 380 before the red light comes on, I then fill up very soon after this.

For I filled up a full tank on friday, I then just put another £20 in it, making it full again. In which time I had done 233 miles... I find like Scott that to 3/4 left takes ages, then it just goes so quick. It has also just had a full service. BTW main driving is on A roads, with the last 10 miles on my 30 mile commute being through town, every morning I will get between 55mpg and 65mpg... i'm confussed

im not actually any good when it comes to diesels but ive looked into it and you could try using millers , people i have spoken to say its good and improves mpg. you could also check you egr valve isnt clogged. correct me if im wrong.

EGR valve eh... Food for thought, thanks. Have also herd about millers and other additives. However if kinght's derv is getting 600+ to a tank, then there must be something wrong!

Scott - I also hate cars, when they don;t work as they should do

Hello, this is my first post.

I brought a brand new 1.2 Referance Sport 57 Plate. I fill my tank up and get about 330 to 350 miles.

I've only had my cupra tdi for a few weeks, but i seem to be getting way less to a tank than the rest of you.

About 340 -350 miles to a tank (fill shortly after the red light). From my calculations it's doing about 38-40 mpg.

Looks like everyone else is getting way more, don't drive it hard but 50% of the miles would be in town.

Very similar to you here mate. However I would say that only about 30% of my miles are town...

Glad to hear i'm not the only one. Mine has a custom map and a full milltek but I doubt whether that influences it much.

Out of interest, does any have severe traction issues with their cupra? If the road is vaguely damp, there's no point giving it the throttle in 2nd and into 3rd as all it does is try to spin! I'm rocking goodyear eagle f1's so the tyres can't be the issue.
