THanks poverty, youve just saved me £100 notes.

Your welcome. Put the money towards v-power once you have the car mapped. Its so addictive with a map. It truley does transform the car, a standard cupra seems slow and asmathetic compared to a mapped one ;)

Yeah I need it mate. Always use V Power and have done since the change from Optimax.

Petrol in the Cupra is costing me more than my Civic Type R. Was hoping it was gonna be about the same but costing me at least an extra £15 week for same miles in my old Honda. The power in the Cupra is too addictive, finding it hard to get more than 26mpg.

Can`t wait for the Bluefin, never owned a Turbo car until now, they are so much easier to increase BHP than NA.

Yeah thats the trouble, the cupra can get good mpg, but its just so hard to behave yourself with all that power.

I average around 14mpg most of the time, luckily I have a dirty derv van for work and dont pay fuel for it, so dont have to pay to commute.

Love the EP2 Type R Civic's...back in the day I bought an Impreza Turbo UK model instead of the Civic.

Originally I was looking at the new Tyre R although 3-doors is not good for our daughter.

Have fun......

No its not modified :D

327bhp and 358lbft of torque rings a bell though with a map and hpfp [B)]

Dont agree with some of the comments in the thread. The first thing you should do is get it remapped, and then go from there TBH. You might find that the map gives you more than enough power and dont want to take things further!

Exactly what I thought to begin with...........

Ok, so i have just installed BF stage 1, and all is well, but as the turbo comes on full boost there is an awfull racket, which i presume is the backbox that is rasping very loudly, is this normal?

It looks like a brand new box with Remus on it, so could the noise be because it is new, or do i have a problem?

The noise is that bad the car will have to be returned to stock!

A mapped car rasps nicely but its not loud where its intrusive into the cabin. K1's do have the remus fitted. Basically the rasping is the back pressure.

Can load up a quick vid of what mine sounds like sitting and revving.

The noise from mine is very intrusive, so if you could post a sound clip of yours for a comparision, i would be very gratefull.

As someone already said .. Welcome to the CW K1 Club! :D

I've always used V-Power in my cars.. :) Had a Scooby Type R before the K1 so was using the V-Power in that.. Got invited to the V-Power Club (not surprised by the amount of times i was filling up the car with the stuff! :D) and haven't used anything else but that in the K1 :)

The noise your hearing is the exhaust gases trying to escape. Its due to a badly designed back box, ie cheap and nasty. The gas is getting trapped and as a result the heat build up is excessive - leading eventually to a cooked cat  mine was nearly burnt out after 3k - although mine was mapped from new. Solution - quality cat back exhaust such as Milltek/Blueflame etc etc needs putting on asap.

So will the Cat-Back prevent a cooked Cat Ryan??
