In the process of doing the interior and exterior of my car..

Anybody know how much it would costs for a window tint installation ?

i have been quoted £350 for all windows, bar the front one.

Is this a reasonable price

i got the windows done on my 16v beeza for £140

this was done proffesionaly by a guy we use 2 do r demo's.
he removes all windows (except tailgate 1) tints um, dry's um and then reinstalls um all.

this was done at a trade price 4 me coz the guy owed me a favour. i think it usually retails about £200 - £250. u might find it cheaper if u get a few people 2 have um done 2gether, that's usually what we have done 2 keep the price down.

hope this helps

I got my beeza done by Pentagon in Glasgow. It cost me £250 all in. That was for all 5 windows bar the windscreen. All windows are removed, tinted and then put back in.

Think they have branches all over britain. Heres the web address.

P.S. You also get a lifetime guarantee for as long as you own the car.

Top job done.

You need to go to 'STR Autotints@ in South Croydon, Surrey. They done my Ibiza for £170 which included the front sides in dark smoke and the rear sides and the tailgate in midnight black. Looks excellent and pictures will hopefully be on the site soon. (especially on a black car!)

Remove the window's!

You can tint windows without removing them! The company near me tint them with wet tint film so it just slides into all the right place's giving you total coverage.

Seen it done, top result without all the hassle of wind noise etc (most car's need door frames removed from door to remove windows!)

Im not saying that its not a better way to do it, just simpler!

Be caution!

You have to find the right people, otherwise you'll lose some of the rear window heaters. Both my friends who did this had problems with it. When they cut the foil they probaly cut also some lines which are heating the glass .
Like I said find a good people to do it not some lamers.

lets just say that the legal isnt really dark enough, i suppose its down to common sence really, aslong as you can see what you need to when its dark, and the plod agrees that you can see what you need to see when its dark, there shouldn't be a problem, oh and the front window is out of the question!!

(the GMP dont actually have any equipment to test the legality yet, its down to there eyesight!)

I know someone who had put limo tint on his car, he had to drive around with the windows down at night so he could see, plonker !! :hammer:

Window Tinting

I have just had the windows my second car ( Fiat Multipla ) tinted by a company in Northampton ( J&K Autoproducts ) Tel: 01604-469505. I paid John a visit and he showed me around and explained the process in detail. He has been in the business a long time and knows his stuff. He removed all the windows that are not glued in place, and applied the film and reinstalled. Those that cannot come out, he will do inside the vehicle. The process involves " working the film" he did a fantastic job and will recommend him to any one. He applied a 20% film to the rear windows and for legal reasons recomended a 50% on the front.

I paid him £300 for the job, as the design of the multipla rear quarter's meant him having to be little more cautious as they curve considerably. ( All done in one piece!! )

The Law

Essex Police have a light meter that will tell them whether it is legal or not and in Dorset as some found out at the Bournemouth Cruise they impunded your car if the tint was illegal!

Some forces will stop you and some will not stop you, the wording is... if it impairs your vision then it is a safety issue and so would therefore be illegal!

Happy Tinting .... Getting mine done in Croyden for £150!
