It really depends on your budget and what you are looking for really.
Need a few bits of information before we can recommend anything i.e.

1) Budget?
2) Do you need Sat Nav? Bluetooth? SD slot? iPod/MP3 player connection?

I have an Alpine HU in my car with the Alpine Bluetooth and iPod connection (Alpine IVA-W202R) the other options are Pioneer, Kenwood and so on. Also you can try and source a VW Mulitmedia unit as well (MFD2 or MFD3) but the Seat versions are quite hard to find and often £££.

The Kenwood units are good. I have the older DNX7200 with a 7" touchscreen, Bluetooth, satnav, Video IPOD, and revers camera functions. They are all very easy to use and work quickly as the software is hard drive based for all features inc Satnav. Some of the newer units have a smaller screen and I would avoid these, but you can get the larger screens in the new versions too. Pricewise you are looking at around £695 upwards:)

i say he should go for a unit that doesnt pop out of the dask he should have a screen installd thats stationary and doesnt move its more stable and they dont overheat like that

some nice individual touches, but, illegal flashing blue lights and your number plate maybe isnt the best choice of self broadcasting ever.

the blue lights i had to remove as police didnt like them but i did have a siren and everything so policy asked me to remove it all so i did.

to be honest i dont see what the problem is about showing my number plate.its not like someone could find out where i live from it is it ???

im baffled by that
