How many miles to a full tank ?

Just filled up today, 40.23 Litres in 423 Miles on the odometer, the tank wasn't even empty yet.... This about normal for me, last 6 months have been 415, 412, 430, 410, 404, and 426.
That's been achieved using the limp wristed "fairy liquid" Tesco call petrol! (due to the credit crunch or else it would be shell or bp)

[1.2 12v]

you do realise supermarket fuel is the same as the likes of texaco, esso etc. the tankers that fill the supermarkets garages up also fill garages that arnt supermarkets.
all the fuel in the uk pretty much comes from the same reffinary anyway.

I only get about 300-320 max in my 1.2, how are people getting 400?? I've tried normal 95RON and 97-98RON and it's exactly the same

cheers taz, how much to the £ extra can you roughly fit in £55? can this cause any problems over filling?

Im not sure how much extra cos i always vent when fillin to the top. I think £50 is a good guess.

Dont do it then park up, only vent before a longish drive cos your using the expansion space. especially with petrols so i've heard.

I just like slagging it because of the whoo haa they had with their fuel a couple of years ago, to be honest I haven't noticed a massive difference with my car's performance but my Mum's A3 2.0l Tdi runs like a bag of nails on Tesco diesel so she uses BP, plus she has a nectar card too. I'm a clubcard point junkie!

Why is it bp is almost always 2p more than anyone else? I never use them.

lol never noticed :p i generally tend to fill up at supermarket stations, seems to be cheeper, but rumour has it then store there fuel warmer so it expands, in theory you dont get as much fuel, anyone else heard of this?

i doubt it lol. don't all filling stations store their fuel underground? shell and bp etc, are hardly gonna spend more money on cooling systems.

apparently filling up at night when its cooler gets you more fuel for your money?

not alot in this country! if you was in the middle of a dessert it the fuel vapour would build up in the tank and your car would be a bit of a time bomb. i used to always vent my 1.2 and i always vent my FR tdi and neither have go ka boom yet

Went on a trip from Glasgow (Scotland) through to down south, stopped in Manchester for a night, went to Alton towers next morning, and drove back up that night, never had to fill up till just after Manchester again. I drive an ibiza cupra tdi, was averaging in between 70 – 85ish, with the odd burst to 130 lol, and managed to get 49.6MPG. think it was about 500 miles out a £47 diesel tank!
