Just ordered some Leon calipers for my 312mm conversion! Hopefully can finally get it underway now!

I was going to go for some Tarox discs, but looking at the prices, it's not justifiable.

Tarox discs are £220 a pair. OEM 312's are £90 a pair. I dont think the Tarox will be over £100 worths better so just going to go for standard discs with uprated pads. :)

They probably don't perform £130 better, but they definitely look £130 better lol ;)

Have a look here for OEM brake discs, Ash http://www.vwspares.co.uk/ibiza02_brakes.php

Cheers Damo! :)

If your spending £90 on some OEM disks, you'd be better going to CRN and getting grooved ones for £80.

Are they cheap and nasty though? I know with like the EBC brake discs and stuff, with them being cheaper, they tend to rust around the hubs and wear a bit quicker. I dont want cheap and cheerful. Tarox are really expensive because they are TUV heat approved or something whereas EBC arent.

What are the CRN ones like and where do you get them from?

Had them on mine since I uprated the brakes, and not had any trouble at all. I know of quite a few people running them with no issues.

Also, £90 for a pair of 312mm disks is a bit on the steep side. Think i was quoted around £50 when i was looking for disks.

My Tarox's have rusted round the hubs just like my standard ones did :( Best bet is to paint the bit around the hub with black hammerite or something. I may get round to it one day lol, you can have a look next week.

Ah right! Might be worth a look then! :D Thanks Tom! See you at Pod this weekend. ;)

Heard good things about CRN discs, Ash.

Might give them a go then I think! :D

Hi Ash,

Hows the car running? What she been like in the humid weather?

Erm - to be honest, I bought some Millers Sport 4 diesel additive for it the other week. Only put two cap fulls in and that was about 1000 miles ago, but recently it's been going like stink! Not sure if it's that finally kicking in or if the ECU has adapted, but it's been like 20 degrees outside and it's been pulling really well!

Still smokes like a train! But is going well! :)
