Hi guys.

Looking at the jbs Garrett 450-600bhp turbo kit for my cupra track car.

Currently running around 290.

Do u think 600 is to much and will be uncontrollable. What powers u guys recommend?

Cheers

ibizacupra (Badger Bill) has about 600bhp. Would be worth reading his build thread (within his section)

if your at 290bhp now just imagine driving it with double that and then ask the same question again but as said bill running that sort of power so have a read.

read - IMPOSSIBLE to put that sort of power down on the road on road tyres

forget headline figures... get 4wd if you plan on this power level

yea I have that sort of power.. and taming into tractable power will be the next challenge

dont get caught up in the hype..
on the road a 300-400bhp car in fwd will be plenty for dry use, and too much for wet road use

trust me

450-600bhp is one hell of a range.......... and not the same turbo spec.
thinking of revving to the moon to get to the 6xx numbers? or 5xx numbers..

got an engine built ready to do this?
its all possible of course, but what do you hope to have at the end of it?

road car?
1/4 mile car?
track car?

reliable

The car is a complete track car, with 2 buckets and a full weld in cage. I run a quiafe LSD and r888's as the car is mot'd just to drive it to the track. I think personally with the quaife diff and the r888's 450bhp would be a good figure

Its too much imo. You'll never use it and the r888's will be ripped to **** (not that they last long anyway). 350-380 would be plenty, and thats if its mapped properly. 1.8+ bar of boost using even a 2871 in anything other than 4wd is a handfull. It so difficult to stay within the limits of power, boost vs grip, and it really does make you slower.
