Ok, regarding the CG-Lock group buy, they've emailed back and said they can offer a £12 discount to members, but ask if they can have some publicity (such as a forum sticky) while the offer is on for five weeks.

Dean at Awesome suggested 22/28 for the LCR because of their tendancy to understeer, which would help to cancel that out, and going too stiff on the front can hinder traction. Where as for a Mk4 Golf he said 25/28 would be recommended due to their softer setup.

How much is the R32 front bar including all the fitting kit? I think the Neuspeed bar is ~£180 all in. When you were looking at front bars did you also look at the S3 and TT ?

Would be interesting to know OEM ARB sizes for all the Mk4 cars...

The 21mm R32 one was about £80 with all fittings
The 23mm R32 one was £100 with all fittings
not too sure what size of bars the TT and S3 run

Only reason I ask is that I know a lot of people recommend good rubber over poly bushes (especially for engine mounts). I guess your rear Neuspeed is poly though?

Yup, but it's only the bit that's holding the bar up the link with the suspension is like a tie rod made of cast something

No.....you guys have the luxury of virtually anything manufacturered for the Mk 4 Golf (2wd)

Thanks for the reply matey, just ordered a front 22mm adjustable Whiteline one from DPM online.

The rear will be purchased next month when i have more funds and i guess it may be a neuspeed one by reading about the great reviews neuspeed arbs get.

Your OEM front bar is 21mm, the 22mm adjustable one is too like your old one to make much difference.
Most of the conversations on this thread have been about the LCR which has an 18mm front bar.
Perhaps you already know this but thought I would say anyway

Anyone know I site I can use to lookup OEM parts (you know, the blow-out diagrams with technical details etc.), or do you have to be VAG registered?

After a quick look on vagcat, the Mk4 models appear to have the following front and rear ARB setups.

FWD cars
Leon - Front: 18mm or 23mm
Octavia - Front: 19mm, 21mm or 23mm
A3 - Front: 21mm
Golf - Front: 21mm or 23mm

4WD cars
Leon 4 - Front: 20mm / Rear: 16mm
S3 - Front: 19mm or 20mm / Rear: 14mm or 15mm
Golf R32 - Front: 21mm or 23mm / Rear: 13mm, 14mm, 15mm, 16mm or 19mm

Only the 4WD models appear to have rear ARBs, including the Leon4. VAG appear to have gone with a understeer-based setup with the 4WD cars, with the front bar usually being larger than the rear.
