Hi Guys,

Wondering if you can help.

I have a Leon Cupra 1.8T 180 with Performance Torque remap and seem to be having some boost (i think) problems. Around 3200rpm i can hear and feel a flat spot, the boost sounds like it drops, then comes back about 3800rpm. I think the same happens around 4200rpm too. Seems to be surging maybe???

Anyway, just done some logs in the really hot weather, see what you think.

Much appreciated.

The weather is so hot at the moment and coupled with you running stock intercoolers 60 degrees intake temps is going to kill your timing through heat soak. Thats probably why your CF's are quite high. Sort out a fmic and she should feel much stronger for it.

Boost looks fine.

Maf readings look abysmal though......

You're not wrong there!. The most i've ever logged since remap was 161g/s It had a new maf about a year ago after it completely died and threw a fault code.

I'm quite concerned about the CF's it's pulling though???

Any idea? Hasn't had plugs for 30k miles or so so maybe???

Cheers

To be fair a 210 bhp LCR in stock form will pull approx 160 g/sec of mass air @ 0.7 bar red line.
So your remapped car is only 0.6 bar @ red line and not far off the above figs. The duty cycle looks like it could maintain stronger boost at redline also.

This heat won't do any favours for your mass air flow since air density decreases with an increase in temp.

Tell me about it ... this heat is killing me ... the air con has gone tits up today too.

Called in to Kwik Fit for a regas and it failed the pressure test so i have a leak somewhere. Need to get that sorted quickly cos i'm off on a drive to the stelvio and round italy in a few weeks ... i'll be dead without air con!

How long have you had your remap? mines took a few weeks for it to adapt. Give good kick around 3rpm, i would recommned typhoon filters as it is feed from the arch also tip for more air flow.

Had it on for a few months now but i don't think it's ever been running right. Had coil packs go pretty much straight away after the remap but that didn't really surprise me as they were original. And had a breather pipe split so thought that might be causing the dip but have replaced that and still the same. Also replaced the DV with a Forge and still the same.

You can see a dip in MAF values before it regains again by 4000rpm so it is physically chucking less air down. It also does it again to less of an extent around 4300rpm as i have done some logs that dip there also.

It take time, kill all normal fuel on to reserve and fill it up vpower, for quicker effect stick some octane booster in ;). it adapts quickly to normal 95 but takes the mick top adapt to higher stuff.

Have finally got it to throw a fault code now:

16795 secondary air injection system incorrect flow detected

Sounds like a vac leak to me?
