HIDs.. A little Clarification

i know there are a few threads on this but i cant seem to find what i want to know.

I would like to get an HID kit, the mk3 has 2 bulbs in each lamp, one main, one dip (i know you know this) SO is 2 kits required for a full HID conv? or do most of you go for just one bulb set? or does it come as a full set? i know little about HID at the moment.

Cheers guys

just think in the last week how many times you had high beam on ?

with a hid brighter low beam you will use it even less to be honest

think i have only ever flashed people with mine

I've always wondered what would happen if you had the High beam kit, as for the normal Dipped beam there is a delay from when you turn them on to when the reach full brightness.

So if you flashed someone with HID high beam would it not work?

Yeah i see what you mean, hardly at all if im honest and ive driven quite a bit at night!

just go for the main driving lihgt h7 and put some uprated bulbs in the high beam whats all i have done

sounds like a plan, atleast if im unhappy i can uprate the mains too but im sure with full on for a while they may get a little warm?

would look a bit pants i suppose but it depends on what brightness they start at... i mean if they start too low it would just look like your lights are brightening up instead of flashing on

you'll get an initial quick flash but you'll have to hold em on to get full effect

i just disconnected my twat lights (front fogs) and wired and bulbed em all 100w to high beam so i get a 4 way flash all seprate from main beam

Lucky old me can get Bi xenon lights because i have a single bulb, so in one kit and i get high/low beams.. will let you all know how they go and how responsive switching from low to high is - im not sure how they operate..

but yea, i never use high beams, only to flash!
