Leon Cupra to KO4 turbo?

What added benefit does the KO3s have over the KO3? I'm sure I read it only adds an extra 10hp with a remap? Although maybe combined with an uprated mani it has big advantages power delivery wise?

I'll PM Dannylad about the fmic :)

this is always a can of worms on this site, but basically the k03s allows the power to be held for longer up the rev range

IMO its worth it and a nice upgrade

OK as always very helpful, I'll have a think

It's quite enticing as it's a direction bolt on with nothing else needed. Wonder how much an indy garage would charge to fit?

it will be a few hours labour at least, depends how much of a PITA the old manifold is to take off

it will make at least a 10-15bhp difference over a sustained period on the rev range

Sorry to ask again but do you need an uprated manifold with a hybrid or will a standard one do?

How much is a decent manifold if needed?

normal manifold is fine for a mapped K03s

on a hybrid K03, a manifold is a must as the standard one is limited to 250bhp max and then becomes the bottleneck/restriction

a decent manifold is in the form of an INA high flow cast manifold (see his section on this site), which is about £200

there is a Kinetic high flow manifold too, but the runners on the INA one are much bigger

I have the INA manifold fitted to my hybrid leon

Speak to THS Performanc about a good front mount that wont cost the earth, i'm running a Ko3s atm with stage 2 Revo map, new TIP/boost pipework, Fmic, DV and de-cat etc... so far this has made a massive improvement to the car!!

looking for some 225 injectors now and poss a 3"maf/better fuel pump ready for my hybid conversion. I will see some good figures from that but it'll never match a K04 stage 2 set up. the K03 simply does not have the puff the Ko4 has!!

but the guys are right... its too much dolla for little gain to fit a k04. better saving up and spending your heard earned on a decent turbo (Gt28rs would be my choice) thats also dsold in a DIY kit with EVERYTHING you need! 300-350bhp no problem!

if i'd paid my motor off that'd be what i'd do??

How much is a front mount from THS then?

couple of hundred with all the piping

would be interested to see one of the ebay THS jobbies cope with a hybrid k03 as I have only read them being good for k03s power

Oh are they just the cheapy golf kits off ebay?

I ordered the larger golf kit off ebay last month but have had loads of trouble with the seller amd am currently trying to get money back through paypal.

Only problem with the golf kits [if thats what it is] is they have no MAP sensor flange.

most kits are alright, and fine for mapped k03s power

they should cope with a hybrid ok I guess, happy to be proven wrong with logs etc

no MAP sensor could well be an issue....

Where did you see the THS kits for £200? I can't see them on there site or on there ebay shop?

MAP sensor mount is not really an issue, I can make one for a few quid or buy the forge one.

I had actually given up on ebay and was looking at the forge kit......but £200 has made me think again :D

well I think from memory this is what Dannylad did his conversion from, a THX cooler with a made up set of pipework......may be a little more

unless prices have gone up recently on the ebay kits?
