does anyone know how much a set of 4 toyo r888 are just out of interest thinking of getting some over the summer then putting my vredsestiens back on september time, also how long will they last like 5-8k miles thanks.

Its one of those great examples of the KISS method. (Keep It Simple Stupid)
It just works, and as poverty pointed out, its for alignment only. We do it in our race team as well. Two sticks, fixing points and string.
But the technician tends to swear if you walk into the strings by accident when he has begun measuring. 
Best price i've seen is around the £150 each mark.
Looking on Tyre review the best dry grip track tyres are the Kumho V70a scoring 100%, about £140 each.
Would imagine wear is pretty crap on any. Think you can get the Kumho's in different compounds from supersoft through to hard. Tyre review has the wear rates on there too.
Been searching through threads on here and the hankook rs2 z212 seem to be good and there only £99 so might give them a blast when stage 2+ gets put on, should make a good little combination. oh and there supposed to have a deeper tread then the r888s so will be better incase of sudden downpour and hydroplaining.

Might have a look at them myself, i think some track orientated tyres are a must to try and make the most use of that extra poke. I thought about sticking some on the front alone but its not a wise move apparently, though i won't be going crazy round corners and stuff so its unlikely i'd push the Pirrelis on the back to the limit anyway...
