Huddersfield SEAT

As some of you have read I've had some massive problems with Huddersfield Seat,

They are the worst garage I have ever had the misfortune to buy a car from - I really think I should have listened to advise given and returned the car..

Here are the list of faults found on my 56 plate Ibiza FR - i bought the car over the phone but stressed that they needed to be 100 % accurate about the cars condition

1) Small dent and 2 scratches in the bonnet - salesmen said he hadn't noticed it, sales manager said they were always going to sell the car with it
2) Two bits of interior trim missing (including passenger seat adjustment knob)
3) Paint missing of rear bumper inserts
4) Traction control light comes on after a few miles and stays on - Salesmen said that this could have happened as soon as I left the dealer - Took it into local dealer and they said the ECU needs totally re programming - they think it may have had a flat battery at some time and then not been re programmed - found this out today - it takes 2 hours minimum
5)No centre hub cap cover
6) Marks around dashboard - some muppet obviously removed dash - badly
7) 2 large cuts on tyre - they said they were fine - took it too ATS who said technically its ok but keep a close eye on it - I've replaced it
Two scratches on dash (passenger side)
9) Small thing but when I left the garage I turned the stereo on and it needed the code to be re-entered

Originally I asked them to take the car back - I really don't believe it had recieved its 102 point check -they insisted it had....

How could they miss those things ?

Decided to keep the car as I really like it and I did get it at a good price - however, that doesn't excuse the problems.

There attitude on the day sucked also - I drove up from Derby, had too wait 30 mins whilst they finished 'polishing it'. When I pointed out the bonnet and bumper inserts there attitude was basically - don't have it then.....

So take my advice - Don't buy anything from Huddersfield SEAT - part of the Synter group i believe...

I've had vastly varying experiences with them. Sometimes they're brilliant, others shocking. Obviously a lot has changed recently what with Richard Alexander going bust and Synter taking them over - I'm waiting to see which category my current issue falls into...

Not had any dealings with them since they changed to Sytner, who incidentally own Leeds Audi who have been fine, but before that they were shocking.

I had an endless list of issue with them from delayed delivery of the car (was going to be 6 weeks late at one point), car damaged when 10 days old, wrong oil put in at first service and general incompetence.

They made too many mistakes to list, but why you would take a door to bits to fix the rattle in the dash and they forgot to reattach the back seat bench when the covering was replaced.

Whenever I complained about a previous issue a couple of weeks before the response was "That was before my time sir".

As far as I know the same management are in place after the takeover, but the they had a very high turnover of staff in the service department.

Whenever I was waiting for work to be done on my car, which as quite often other customers would rant about how bad they are.

Thats good to know as i've got 10 months warranty and i'm getting Eibachs and a milltek on there soon.

I am surprised they didn't say anything about the aftermarket springs though being so closely related to the shockers!!!

I'm having the Cambelt and waterpump replaced on my 1.8t FR a week today... I will post and rate my dealings with them,

over the phone I was quoted £297 with free courtesy car which I didn't think was bad..

not had any issues with em personally, had mine in a few times for warranty work and it was always hassle free. Car was in condition agreed when collected (stonechips sorted). I do however let awesome sort my car though so cant comment on recent service

Had my Cambelt, Tensioners and waterpump replaced today here on my Ibiza FR. It cost £297 and i'm very happy with the service I recieved.

They gave me a free courtesy car and no obligation vehicle health check where they pointed out that my console bushes needed replacing, my radiator was leaking and brake disks were showing signs of wear (all which I knew about, but still they didn't try and screw me for anything, just gave me the price)... All that though I will do myself I just like to get the cambelt done at the dealers.

So, I would definitely recommend Huddersfield SEAT, especially whilst the cambelt offer is on

Iv been down to them for a few small bits and peices. They always seem pretty happy to help, apart from when they shafted me with a new key that died after 3weeks.
