Just had a remap and wondering what is the best tunning option next,
any recommendations?

i have also heard about clutch probs, is it worth worrying about?

a straight through system could be next. piper rs on these forums have made a downpipe without the cat. there are others also. apparently the back box is the most restrictive...

as for clutch..

after my generic remap i dyno'ed 193bhp and 261 lb foot. had no clutch slip what so ever.

now i've got a hybrid dyno'ed 230bhp and 330lb ft. still no clutch slip... really depends on how its driven... its a lottery if it will last or not...

nice one mate! ye may try a de cat and rear box. wat about the MOT and would i need a stage 2 remap to get it all working for extra power?

not going to change the clutch unless it starts to slip, it fine at the mo.

cheers

Diesels do not get emission tested, its a smoke test to ensure your not blinding the drivers behind. hence why on the walls of the mot station it states they are not responsible for timing belts snapping when they rev the tits off a diesel.

depending on how much you want to spend, stage 2 would be pointless unless you get a hybrid. instead you can spend the money on getting the power down properly, or bigger brakes? (porsche comes to mind), dog bone mount, arbs, coilovers (careful of bumps, the tdi sump sits low)

As for clutch, personally id say it is a must.

330ft/lbs on a standard clutch will not last.
Anything over 300ft/lbs wont last long for that matter, unless you ***** foot around it up to 2.7k, but then whats the point in having the power?

Also those figures seem remarkably out of sync to say you have a hybrid turbo. Torque should be much higher for that amount of power.

without going too off topic, a lot of people seem to say that. tbh im not sure why? the TD guys do seem to get more closer to the 400 mark, but until i get an uprated clutch its just an extra cost i dont need at the moment.
also i boot mine from 2k all the way to 4k and its never slipped at all. its a lottery!
