zboyd, black leon is the dogs danglies. wot do think the diesel fr will be ? 2.0 crtdi 140 or pumped up 1.6 crtdi ??

SEAT released a press release the other day concerning the Ibiza SC range, announcing it will soon be available with the 1.6 common rail.

http://www.seatcupra.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1100&Itemid=1

All we know about the Ibiza FR at the moment is it will use a 150hp version of the 1.4TSi, its possible it could use a 1.6CR though it only develops around 105hp in it's current offering. So a 2.0 litre CR engine would be most likely when they start shipping them with oil burners.

However as soon as we know more, and get some full specifications we'll post up and article on the website.

From the link above:- Quote:The 1970s Bocanegra was a bit of a milestone as far as SEAT is concerned, being the first model to be wholly developed at the SEAT tech centre in Martorell. It sold 11,000 units in three years and gained a bit of a cult status.:quote

1970's Bocanegra??????????????????????

Thats a very good read, Mark :)

Ta, :) it's based mostly on a press release SEAT Spain issued a few days ago relating to the Ibiza's 25th Anniversary.

Though it uses most of that press release as the factual body of the article, I felt it needed fleshing out with more images and more description.

So I hope it kind of comes off how I hoped it would, I don't profess to be any kind of journalist but I try to give it a good go occasionally.

What we see now are the 2008/09 Clio's, Astras, Corsa's and Ibiza's all looking very similar (especially from the back). But looks like SEAT have added that special touches to the FR here that still makes it stand out from the crowd. :)

Look forward to viewing one of the "sportier" Ibiza's in the flesh.

So is there a diesel FR due any time soon? Although I keep being drawn back to the photos of the Bocanegra, it's just so damn pretty.

If the new fr only comes with dsg, then I won`t be getting one. I am waiting to see the diesel version in 5 door to replace the wifes ibiza sport 130 tdi.
She just won`t go for it as it is mainly driven by her. I however would be quite pleased.
Hope it comes as an option??

Well I have just been to Seat to ask a few questions and to put my name down on a new FR or Cupra

The FR is going to be manual.

Cupra DSG

Apparently it is only hype that the Bocanegra is Going to be on sale. And that it isnlt actually happening, but there is a 'Aero Kit' that will come as a extra to be added to an fr or cupra, but this is in the pipeline

There is also going to be a Tuning Pack for the FR and Cupra that will take the Cupra to 240 bhp so i have been informed, at around 550 quid anbd will keep warranty as it will be fitted by the dealer.

Prices - 15,500 Cupra
13,500 FR but these are to be confirmed

Also a special paintwork for the FR and Cupra - Pearlescent White

Cupra Diesel going to be released ---- October time, and they are also reviewing the 1.4 engine as they may release it a 210 BHP instead of 180!!!!

To contend with the Clio

Please note this is what i have been told by the dealer
So it may not be 100% accurate
