helloooo everyone

Welcome to my readers rides thread :D

My car is an Ibiza Mk2 , 1996 (P Reg i believe)
1.4 CLS
Tornado Red (Y3D)

I've been driving it for nearly a year now, it was my mums car which she had bought in summer 99...
so far all the mods have been to get it looking better as she was a little worse for wear, the engine hasn't been touched yet.

here's a few pics of it from last year, when it was still standard:

First things I did were fixing the front bumper and respraying the rear side panels...
a few year ago my mother had bumped the car into someone elses when the roads were icey,
the frame behind the bumper was bent inwards about an inch causing the fan not being mounted properly and and the left hand light was bent inwards... this took about a day or two to fix.

I then moved onto spraying the rear panels, this time the damage was caused by myself when reversing into my garage , but this was when I was learning to drive lol

For the next step I decided to buy some alloys wheels, after fishing around on the web, I finally came across a set I loved and for a very decent price...

Team Dynamics 100+ Jet in 17" with 4 tyres with about 7-8mm tread on each
all for a price of £100 :D

after they were fitted:

I found the front of the car a bit boring so I took out the standard grills and replaced with silver mesh:

came across a few bits and bobs on ebay such as a spoiler from a 16v ibiza, a front splitter from a mk2 gti...
The 16v spoiler in metallic black on ebay, as some of you may know,
decided to keep the spoiler black to go with the red/black theme of the car :D...
tigersealed it into place (really annoying trying to hold it in place for an hour to set :cartman:):

then came time for fitting the front splitter, this was annoying but a job well paid off :D
when measuring found that shape was slightly different because it came from a facelift bumper and it was also longer...
had to take bumper off and remove the lower part then i bolted the splitter on and used a tad of tigerseal to hold in place and prevent any vibrations:
P100409_1827.jpg

then fitted the whole thing back onto the bumper and bolted into place then cut the side down...overall made a massive difference to the look of the car:

i also bought some rear light clusters...and guess what they were, lexus lights!! lol, but i bought them in black (not clear:p) because i think they really suit the car...:

i then moved onto the interior, i decided to colour code my dash fascia and heater surround because the all black was abit boring for me...
P190309_1402.jpg

i removed all the parts for painting, primed them, painted then lacquered...

other things i did were changed the front standard speaker to kenwood 4" speakers, fitted 2x13cm caliber speakers with tweeters, got red/black car mats and red/black car seat covers (looking to get a gti interior if i can find one), changed handbrake and gear gaitors to black/red leather ones and changed gear knob (cheap and tacky one i know but i'm saving up for a sparco/momo one:))

more to come tomorrow when pics are uploaded :D

Nice idea for the colour coding dash..
Mind me asking how much you paid for the spoiler?
Wasn't too keen on the idea of silver mesh grills.. but that's quite sexy..

Looking good so farrrr :)
And I'm really jealous of the price you paid for your alloys!! Can't find a decent set anywhere for less than £180 :S

cheers :)

the spoiler i got from ebay for 30 with postage...
yh i quite like the silver mesh, have thought about gettin black but then you cant really see it lol...i might be facelifting it, i.e. changing the bumpers to the bigger colour coded ones if i can get hold of some..
it took me a while to find the alloys, i was on ebay 24/7 for about 2 months till i found a perfect set for that price :cartman:, there is a few multifit wheels on ebay at the mo for about 100-150.. but 180 is still fairly cheap if it is a decent set

i wasnt to sure whether to do it or not because i didnt think it would look good, but i went through with it and i think it really did pay off :D...:

i have also built a 2x10" subwoofer box, fitted 20mm spacers to the rear wheels, colour coded the wiper arms and fitted Seat sport numberplate surrounds
will post pics when they are uploaded,
also i make sure i wash and wax once or twice a week :)

next steps are;
get hold of some side skirts,
hopefully some angel eyes,
lower it, probably 40mm,
tint the windows,
get he exhaust back box changed
and maybe get the roof sprayed black :funk:

Strips look nice, bit of a marmite thing IMO.

You've put alot of effort into this and its paying off nicely :)

cheers guys, yh the stripes are a love or hate thing, but one things for sure, it turns more heads than usual ;)

Kenny_fr, what do you mean by getting the plastic bits painted? do you mean the bumpers? i have thought about it but i didn't think metallic black bumpers would look right...i think i'm just going to use that autoglym bumper care for now :D

i really want to get my roof sprayed black, ive seen a one or two ibiza's with it done and i think it looks amazing....

Car looks good mate. As Alpine already said the front splitter makes a big difference.

The repair you did on the rear wing is a really well done job, the paint looks as great match aswell.

I like the colour-coded interior, i thought of doing this but I wasnt too sure, may do it. If you had said I had a set of those rear lights you could of had, they are sitting doing nothing. Same with the dtm mirrors I have.

Can I ask, where did you get the seat sport number plate surrounds??

cars looking really good its supriseing how much that has improved.
one thing i think you should do to go with the red black thing is get the panel behind the number plate done in black following the lines at the botom of your rear lights under the badged bit i might be wrong but im pretty sure that might look pretty good.
