Hi all,

I've been thinking that my engine has been a bit louder after startup. Searched and came across this thread - did a quick look of block 2 at startup - is this normal form rpms and engine loads - startup after been parked for a day and 17 degrees ambient. (I've edited it to every 5 secs to save an overly long list):

the burbs...
The revs look about right, my LC would run at around 1200 - 1300 RPM for a minute or so, and then drop down to around the 850 mark. My LCR does the same at start up. Nice thread revival though.

Cool, thanks for the reassurance. Car's new to me and I feel as though it's noisier than when I got it - but I'm probably just on heigtened alert since the CEL came on.

Went for a thread revival rather than a new thread - seemed a bit tidier!

yeah mine does that to but drops to about 400,sounds like engine is going to blow up,then shoots back up to about 1200,then down and up and down and on and on.The dealers changed the maf but it still happens now an then, which is very :censored: annoying.

 my revs rose up to about 2000 - 2500 last night when it was normal temp after I restated it, could this be a MAF issue ?
