Ive had my lcr mk1 for about 6 months now and love the motor, however im not too impressed with the 'seat sound' exhaust and although the tailpipe looks cool, i want a louder sounding exhuast, using the same tailpipe.

What exhuast would you recommend?

Im not looking for one that sounds too loud, but something thats decent and louder than current one.

Ive looked online at some company websites and they have 3 classes of exhaust:

Standard - normal equivalent to seat current sound
Mid Sport - mid range sound
Heavy Sport - fully loud

Any ideas? oh and what about costs?

I understand what you mean mate, my old Ibiza cupra used to sound like a fookin jet when it came on boost and its was the best sounding exhaust i've ever heard

Is there any exhaust out there that can give the same results when the turbo comes on boost???

My mate has a Mazda 3 MPS which sounds superb when it comes on boost and its gutting for me

thats the thing, the car looks the business but the sound is letting it down i think. £330 is quote expensive, for just the back box change dont you think?

i dont want chav sound but do want something a little louder than standard.

I was parked next to a subaru the other day (non wrx) and the car sounded lethal next to mine! i could prob dust him, but sound wise he slaughtered me!

Im thinking of a piper as the tip is more oem that the miltek with IMHO looks a tad square compared to stock. If you want loud im sure you can get one made up and remove a silencer and you wont be damaging BHP as the gains are to be had from downpipe and cat/decat. As with all things you get what you pay for, heard the miltek has great quality and is developed properly which im sure the piper is aswell.

my cat back made a little difference to noise but when i fitted my down pipe and de-cat it was alot louder, deep sound not to chavy. i couldnt beleve how crap and small the old down pipe was, if anything leave the standard system and just get down pipe and decat/sports cat.

Rocky is right, cat-back not back-box and £330 is a good price for Milltek. I have the resonated version which is not much louder than standard, (Just what I was looking for). Non-res is a bit louder without sounding like a Saxo/Corsa, (Just what you're looking for).

Would that really work Nev? Would it actually bolt together? I can't help thinking that it'll be free flowing down to the sports cat and then hit a restriction on the OEM cat-back. I wonder if the OEM system would sound any deeper?

Oh no, I do not like that. It sounds like a high powered vacuum cleaner. BlueFlame, Piper or Miltek it is then :)

re the vortex, i've got one on my PD150. torque jumped by 20lb ft with proof before and after.

as for the noise its very dependant on what you have and they can taylor it to your needs. it doesnt sound anything like that on mine, its very muffled and i love it. only can hear it at 2.5k and above.

end of the day, each to their own
