right,
im looking to buy a new headunit for my car stereo system,
ive been looking at a few with the full work, i.e. cd, dvd, gps, bluetooth etc...but most of them are double DIN (twice the size of normal headunits)

so to fit it i will have to cut my dash to size, has anyone here done that before and succeeded?

cheers

i was actually thinking of moving my heater controls down 2 inches because ive got this unused gap underneath them,

then ill have the space where the my cd player is at the mo, but ill have to cut the dash fascia and some how reshape it

not really thought about removing the vents...

i have seen a few single Din units with the pop out screen, i like them but i would prefer the big ones :p,
i dont want to buy one new because im on a budget and the kind i want cost like 500-1000 lol
ive been looking on ebay and the single Din ones sell for more, i think its purely because people dont want to have to modify their dash,
i missed out on a double Din headunit, kenwood, 7" touch screen, with the full works (dvd, gps, bluetooth etc), ended for 50!! was gutted :(

and this is how i would probably mod the dash, if i can :cartman:

Good Photoshop and idea!

I'd have a good look behind the vent controls and makesure the capability to move them is there as i believe the controls are hooked up to cables etc. Good use of the empty space that you have by not having leccy windows.

Just one thing to consider, will it draw scum to your pride and joy having a huge screen on display?

:D,

when i last opened it up to paint my dash i had a look behind their, and it seems like the controls can be moved, ill just have to make a new bracket for them but ill have to double check...

i live in a half decent area, and my cars always parked in a garage... ill just get some kind of cover for when im not parked at home lol

Good photoshop. Took me a moment or two to realise the space you have at the bottom is where the electric window and mirror switch is on mine lol. £50 is damn cheap. Especially if it had the gps included.
