It might even have some sort of black face ........... Or mouth :D

Now your thinking outside the box Briano. :)

Ibiza Bocanegra has already been tipped by the car press for a production ready appearance at Barcelona.

Cupra R or could it be Leon Bocanegra now as the 'something special' branding.

Time will tell. [B)]

Just thought I'd let you know.. I've just been on the phone to Colliers in Bham and they've just had the price list for the 2009's through today.

I only asked about the FR TSi - £18550 otr. Nice.

£18550 expensive !!,

Not really, the current model is £18385. So prices are very competitive. Plus it's got a better spec.

Hmm... £22995 for a Mk6 Golf GTI 5-door, or the £4610 (+ discounts) cheaper Leon?

The price went up last week by nearly £1000 for the current one and now by another few hundred, i bought a new leon fr in 2007 (which i still have and love driving) the list price was just over £17000 then with haggling alot lower than that, assuming there was no more price increases it will go up more in december when vat goes up and in april next year when the showroom tax starts, the golf well yeah that is a rip off, when i change my car i will probably look at other makes may be even a focus ST given the discounts.....

I was surprised when I read a thread the other day that the current style Cupra is not that much more than the current FR. Okay so Xenons have been dropped as standard but when I bought my Cupra it was about £2500 more, now the difference is just over £1000.

The Focus ST has gone up around £2000 since the original launch as well.

The FR is still a bargain compared to the competition. Personally I would question the build quality compared to the other marques, but is a big saving over the Golf say.

I can totally understand how cars are priced, but peoples limits are being pushed nowadays. Especially as in the current market you lose a fortune. The 3 year predicted values are now being hit after just 2 years. I know many people who have bought new in the past but won't now.

I paid spot on £18k for my FR DSG with a few options on 0% finance just over a year ago. I reckon I'd struggle to get £10k for it now if I wanted to sell. I'm not overly concerned as I intend to keep the car for a long time, but I think my next car will be leased as a result.

I don't really understand the build quality comments either, as my old LCR was nowhere near as solid and had much more creaks and rattles, even taking the age into account. Granted without the RNS510 the dash looks a bit rubbish around the radio, but with it I'm very happy with how it looks. I actually prefer the old style climate unit to the new one from the pics, but it may all be different up close.

Some research has shown me that leasing is not the best plan either though mate unless you go with a poverty spec A3 or Honda Civic diesel at £209 per month plus VAT.

You pay 3 months up front followed by 23 payments of the same plus any admin fees.

Total cost for 2 years on a car like that is therefore;

3 x £209 + VAT = £721.05
23 x £209 + VAT = £5528.05
Admin = £200 approx.

Total = Approx £6500 for 24 months.

And that is a non maintained deal.

For the likes of a Leon FR or Cupra, expect it to be more expensive as the resale value on a Leon is poorer than that of an A3.

I would imagine it would be probably more like £300 per month plus VAT, therefore;

3 x £300 + VAT = £1035
23 x £209 + VAT = £7935
Admin = £200 approx.

Total = Approx £9,170 for 24 months.

To compare, you can buy a Cupra for £18k if you look hard enough, and resale after 2 years is £12k going by the cars for sale at the moment, therefore a cost of £6,000 for 24 months. The difference is you either use savings or fund a loan to do it which costs money, but at the end of the day, the car is yours to sell if you need to in the event of a redundancy etc.

By the way, a 1 year old FR TFSi DSG is going to be worth more than £10k unless you have a gizillion miles on it.

Hmm. Not as clear cut as you say. My issue is mileage really, I've put 22k on it in 13 months, hence my low expectation. Still, I'm happy and not looking to move on and that's all that matters.

Mileage makes leasing more expensive. I should have posted above the information I am using based on 10k miles a year. To me, its pretty clear cut about lease cars being expensive as I was all set to get one myself until I worked out how much it would cost to have one I actually wanted to have.

What's that?

Questions
What's the small silver section under the radio, at the very front of the centre console?
and
what's the reference for the sat. nav. coz I'm guessing it won't be standard issue?

Hey!

From what I can see form the Seat web site, there is now no way of having a Leon sport TDI DSG (sports suspension, larger alloys and sports seats), and climate control?? I have a reference sport at present and would like to replace it with a similar car. Anyone know if a dealer can add climate to the sport as an option?

many thanks

Ian

Have a look at the seat.com page for the refreshed model... I presume UK specs will be similar...

I can't quote the URL sorry, need more posts.

SEAT.COM said:
The new Leon Sport features a breathtaking list of standard equipment to take you straight into the fast lane: From a sport suspension to Climatronic Bi-zone – allowing for you and your front passenger to enjoy separate, perfect driving temperatures. From an on board computer to cruise control. From our new Combined USB/Aux-in Port (CUP), which allows you to fully control your MP3-files on your USB device or iPod® through your multi-functional steering wheel, to exterior mirrors, door handles and side mouldings in body colour. Then there would also be sporty 17” Aroa alloy wheels, ergonomically moulded sport seats finished in new specific upholstery, a new chromed radiator grille, redesigned front grilles, and dark green tinted windows.
