the
coding on the main key may have become corrupt, hence why the immobiliser light flashes......
the key can be reprogrammed / reset can't it??
i remember when i owned an Alfa, i was fiddling with my keys sat in the pub, pressed the button , so pressed it again.
when i go to get in my car the doors unlocked as normal, opened the door the alarm goes off
triggered by the motion sensors
start pressing the button, alarm still going off
put the key in the ignition, tried turning it over immodiliser light flashes
thinking
, especially as a busy beer garden is now looking at me
, pressed the button on the key by mistake whilst the key is in the ignition turned on, alarm goes off and normal service is resumed
spoke to my mechanic at the next service and apparntly if you press the key fob a few times out of range it reset the key, i suppose in case you loose your keys or they get stolen and some scrot walks around a carpark pressing the button looking for your car
might be worth trying a few combinations sat in the car with the duff key before you go chucking it away
By the way...... £360
.......... good work
