Hi Guys

Had the Cupra remapped again and this time got all the issues resolved and all seems well so far... its much quicker than I was expecting to be honest with the map being very aggressive with how the turbo spools up and makes for an exciting drive :D

Quick question though for people who have had the stage one remap... how abrupt does the car cut boost when you say accelerate then lift off the throttle as it comes on boost... before the remap it was a very soft cut but with the increase in boost its rather aggressive when lifting the throttle.

If I rev through to 3k rpm then shift its not really an issue... its when shifting around 2500rpm just when the turbo starts to get in its stride and I change gear it cuts aggressively so causes the car to jerk slighty?

Does this seem normal?

On another note I cant see my front tyres lasting long...:whistle:

yeah mine does the same... new forge dump valve has smoothed it a bit... with some foot control you can acheive a smoother clutch and and throttle operation - just takes a few weeks to get used to it

Already got the Forge DV so I'll just get used to it ... car does around 400-500 miles per week so wont take long ;)

I spoke to Jabba sport a while ago and asked if i'd need a stronger spring for the DV when i have the car remapped, the bloke said no as it shortens the life of the turbo as it shuts off the power quicker causing the turbo to stall (think thats right) might be worth seeing what spring is fitted in there and see if it needs a weaker one so it doesn't shut off so violently causing the jerk.

Where would I get a softer spring ... ?

It does seem to be settling down though :)

Remap is the same one ... the car was at fault and it took me 8mnths to find the issue!:redface::D

forge can supply different springs... usually comes with the softest green spring,
yellows next then blue.

what was up with the car?

Will let it settle down then :)

Split boost pipe under the inlet manifold that three garages couldnt find... I found it myself after the EML came on !! - Three inch split :funk:

I am not sure about LC's but am i right in saying that running an LCR with the Yellow spring is right? It is stock currently but will have a remap some time soon.

not right or wrong mate. if the green spring works well then leave it be.

lots on here have run yellow without issue including myself in the past.

im on the equivilent of a green spring now, IHI turbos particulary dont like stiff dv springs.

Green spring for the stock map and yellow for a remap. If you have a green and are remapped all it will mean is that it will dump slower (not feeling so responsive to decelerate). A yellow spring on a stock map will be a little too strong for the boost and might not fully open when accelerating.

Man, I've thoroughly confused myself now, why would you want the valve open when accelerating, wouldn't that just be pushing boost back into the TIP?

Ok ... car is a bit better but the throttle feels a little fluffy on initial press... is it worth doing throttle body adaption or just give it longer to settle down?

yet forges actual advice is to leave it green unless you get problems. yellow isnt needed for a remapped car. green should seal fine
how can i be running the equal to the green spring on 320bhp? anything heavier would knacker my turbo

just found this..
