Rain Sensor

Does anyone know if it is possible to retro fit automatic wipers. Either a genuine SEAT way, or 3rd party - I'm not fussed.

I ask because I find that the variable intermittent wipers on the Leon are not variable enough!

I have seen mentions of a Hella Raintronic in various parts but am unable to find a) where I can buy one and b) Which one I should buy if I could find one. There are some on e-bay Germany, but they appear to be vehicle specific and those ones are from a BMW.

Thanks
Dae

PS - Auto Dim mirror would be cool as well if I could lay my hands one one.

Looked on Hella's online catalogue and couldn't find a listing for one to fit a Seat Leon. Thing is I'm convinced I have seen other people say they have one!

Wondered if there was one for a different vehicle which fit. Couldn't find one listed for a VW Golf Mk IV either.

Wouldn't know sorry mate. I find the variable intermittent wipers in mine ideal. Perhaps drive a car without and find out if they are not variable enough?

not quite sure how 'variable' the leon's wipers actually are..
it's either too quick, or far too quick.

what's the point of having that adjustable dial if the lowest setting goes to constant wiper speed anyway?

seriously though, how annoying is this?

i don't understand the point of the 4 different settings if 3 and 4 seem to be warp speed.. i love it when it goes to über speed on setting 1.. i mean how often do you even use the fastest wiper speed?!

I know.I usually end up with them off and manually flicking the stem for a single wipe.
Rather crap me thinks

haha, i'm not the only one!
it is rather annoying, i agree

i reckon we take wiping our windscreen far too seriously..
do you hate people streaking their wipers over a dry screen too? ;)

Dear freind
my Toledo is 2004 and has from the factory rain sensor. When i put it in the first scale it works automaticaly variable from the speed and the rain witch comes in the front windscreen
It has the auto dimming rear mirror on (in the base of the mirror is the rain eye)
