Fan speed changes with wipers

Strange problem I noticed last night in the rain. When the wipers are on intermittent, you can hear the fan speed up noticabley when the wipers 'wipe' the screen. When they settle back to their rest position the fan slows back down to normal speed again. The climate controll display doesnt change with this, and its difficult to tell if its the fan speed increasing or it going into recirculation mode (makes a noise like a fan speed increase). Any help as to what this problem is would be appreciated as the noise was starting to do my head in:D

Not the earth, as the fan speeds up. Does sound exactley like the recirculation going on though. Wonder whether there is a short somewhere. Only noticed it last night because the radio wasnt on. Looks like ill just have to keep listening to music then;)

If the fan speed changes the icon on the climate scren should change to show that the speed has gone up.

Are you sure it isn't just a case of the wipers catching the wind and making a woosh noise as they wipe the screen and catch the wind side on?

Does this happen when you are stationary too?

Yep, happens when stationary. Was talking to a mate about it and he sugested it could be the wiper mechanism passing over the air intake. Sounds possible, but havent had the time to investigate any further.
