Hi all,

I picked up my Leon Cupra yesterday and I'm loving it. The only thing that's bothering me is the awful kerbing done by the last owner. Can anyone recommend somewhere in the Newcastle/Gateshead area to refurb them? I want to keep the colour as close to standard as possible.

Cheers

Jon

Well part of the deal I got was for the wheels to be refurbished by a mobile wheel repair company that comes to the dealership. They only come on Tuesdays though so it'll be getting done by them but I've heard mixed responses from people getting them repaired this way so I'll wait and see what they come out like before I look any further.

try this bloke HERE mate. he's who arnold clarke (scotswood rd) and revolution recommend.

i used him last week and the wheel is brand new, you really cant tell. he's mobile so will come to you and do it there and then, or you can put the space saver on and let him take it away (like i did). he picked the wheel up, repaired it, and returned it to me in under 4 hours.

and all for £45. (he'll do all 4 in any colour you want for £160, i was tempted to go black but resisted)

Well I went back to the dealer today and they carried out the mobile repair. To be fair the job isn't bad but the lad who was doing the work said there was no chance of getting the kerb marks out because they were too deep and if they put filler in this will just crack off the next time you change a tyre. The original deal when I bought the car was for them to swap the wheels with another Cupra they had in but this was sold before they made the change so they've done this instead.

I now need all 4 fully refubished so it'll have to be a take away job, any recommendations for this type of refub, again in the Newcastle/Gateshead Area. The dealer has said he'll call back if any Cupras come in soon and I can swap with theirs if they're in good condition or if not they will pay for the refurbishment.
