Hi guys

I know Ibiza's are known for rattles but this one takes the biscuit. Its coming from the footwell/behind steering wheel. I just cant find it! Tried removing the little cubby hole thing (on the right hand side of steering wheel) and tried removing the panel above the pedals, but that isnt it. Sounds like a plastic clicky noise.

Had a quick searchy, but cant find anything. Anyone else has this problem or know what it could be?!

Cheers

i've got 1 that seems to be behind the steering wheel...but its just the dash rubbing where the main dash meets the part around the dials. just a Seat thing

I've got exactly the same noise as you've described! I'm going to try n solve it by shoving a bit of foam or rubber in the gap.

Chris - to find out if you've got the same rubbing noise....push the instrument cluster when you hear the noise and it should stop.

My car was in the stealers because the boost pipe blew off and it was getting fixed under warranty. When i got it back, there was a rattle, turns out they hadn't tightened the airbox up properly, check that yours hasn't worked itself loose.

As you are going along, see if you can put pressure on different parts of the dash to stop the rattle. Then do as Altech said and hopefully that = fix. I still get horrible whistles on the motorway, its a seat thing

hello mate, i had several rattles on my mk3 ibiza so i tore the glovebox out and the speedo and the steering wheel, upon replacing them (and putting in some missing screws) it stopped apart from the glovebox. i was later told to cable tie down the loose wiring as this could cause a rattle . . . . go figure:confused:

very often the rattle will come from the other side of the car from what you think.

Get a passenger to tell you where they think the noise is from, you may be surprised...................
