I've driven both the VXR and the Cupra although a couple of years apart (drove one of the first VXRs at the end of 2005).
It was quick but due to the torque steer felt as if you would crash it if you got it wrong in the wet. The Cupra was a very steady car.
Took a Cupra round the track on the SEAT track day and it was very very impressive what the car can do.
The VXR is too common as well, there are at least 2 near where I live (within 1/4 mile) I've seen less than 10 Cupras on the road in 18 months and one or two K1's.
Mattwarcher, Mines around 310BHP from performance torque, paid i think around £300 and that was with pre and post dyno runs.....
The car is simply awesome mate with the map.... the Exhaust note is louder tooo... i love it
Heff 27, I have a K1 and want to remap it to the 300 bhp mark. can i ask where you got it done and how much it cost. live in south wales and was interested in going to a guy in Bristol to get it done. (revo) what do you recommend ????
Performance talk is where you want to go mate. In wolverhampton. 01902 324584
Will charged me £295 to put her 311bhp.
P.T is a good place and i'm sure those with Cupras who have been to Will will say the same.
funnily enough i had a run in with an Astra VXR a few weeks back. He was on it as i saw him closing fast in the outside lane so i put my foot down from cruising(70ish in 6th) and left him floundering in the outside lane all on his lonesome. Each time he had a go i just drove away from him. Iv,e been told it was stage 3 but haven,t seen him again to confirm it. Saying that it did go very well up to 3 figures then seemed to die.
I bet he wasn't amused, although I seriously doubt you would pull a S3 VXR's pants down in 6th @ 70mph somehow. Full beans then god yeah..
You have a few mods up your sleeve don't you Blade?
I only tell the truth Ben, and yes i like my mods.
must of bin on your bike!!!
Fraid not, the bike is a little quicker than my car but is still wrapped up in the garage until Spring arrives
A little quicker? My R1 would spank my Cupra's backside
