I've driven both the VXR and the Cupra although a couple of years apart (drove one of the first VXRs at the end of 2005).

It was quick but due to the torque steer felt as if you would crash it if you got it wrong in the wet. The Cupra was a very steady car.

Took a Cupra round the track on the SEAT track day and it was very very impressive what the car can do.

The VXR is too common as well, there are at least 2 near where I live (within 1/4 mile) I've seen less than 10 Cupras on the road in 18 months and one or two K1's.

That's exactly what is happening in real world ...!!! The VXR is more torquey than a LC (both in stock mode) and pulling seems harder with the former since its K04-turbo is smaller and pulls up faster than the K04-type turbo of the Cupra TFSI which is larger and has a relative lag below 3000rpm. However, with a remap (and even more with peripherals; full tb exhaust, intake, FMIC, fuel pump, etc) the Cupra becomes a monster of power (can reach 360-370bhp on stock turbo), while the VXR with all peripherals hardly surpasses the 300bhp barrier. Moreover, after 5500-6000rpm the VXR is not that fast, while the Cupra pulls hard up to the 7000+rpm limiter...:)

Will charged me £295 to put her 311bhp.
P.T is a good place and i'm sure those with Cupras who have been to Will will say the same.

HI Robdf2

I had my car Map at P-Torque with just 80 miles on the clock, the Figures are as follows

STOCK - 255 BHP - 232 fb/ft

REMAP - 306 BHP - 306 fb/ft

Nows she run in with 5k on the clock, she could be pushing a little more

funnily enough i had a run in with an Astra VXR a few weeks back. He was on it as i saw him closing fast in the outside lane so i put my foot down from cruising(70ish in 6th) and left him floundering in the outside lane all on his lonesome. Each time he had a go i just drove away from him. Iv,e been told it was stage 3 but haven,t seen him again to confirm it. Saying that it did go very well up to 3 figures then seemed to die.

 I bet he wasn't amused, although I seriously doubt you would pull a S3 VXR's pants down in 6th @ 70mph somehow. Full beans then god yeah..
You have a few mods up your sleeve don't you Blade? ;)
