4300 - yellow hint like original
6000 - slightly bluer hint, hence people burchase led sidelights to match

some then do h1, main beam, as these are original and again slightly yellow

4300k are bright white without even a hint of yellow. If you have 4300k HIDs and they are yellow, you need to be sending them back for a refund. See below:

http://www.soslightbulbs.com/colortemperaturechart.aspx

4300k is what I'd go for if I were getting another set. They put far more light on the road than 6000k HIDs and still have the blue tinge on startup.

my 6000k are ice white, no real hint of blue

6000k same here but bluey on startup, once warmed up they look just right

but then my lenses are projectors so even with 120w halogens still had a tinge on the edge so probably me just used to it

Does anyone know what "K" the cars that originally come with HIDS have? e.g. BMW's / Audi's / Focus ST / Range Rover Sport

The ones on cars such as these always look spot on. My 4.3K's dont look quite the same as these I'm guessing 6K's are closer - going to try these when I have a bit of spare cash. Will take some pics of one in each headlight for a true comparison

oem xenons are 4300k but in a projector headlight.

Not always, Renault Lagunas never had projectors on their Xenon headlamps until quite late in the production run of the last model. 4 years of those cars had Xenon HID headlamps with a rear reflector to focus the beam. Other than the auto beam levelling it was exactly the same setup as the Leon with aftermarket HIDs.

But yes, OEM HIDs are 4300k and I've yet to see a yellow looking beam.

all down to personal opinion and i say 6k or 8k Ive gone for 6k for mine

8k are almost completely blue and would get you pulled in no time flat in this area, I've been there. They couldn't do anything about it but its a pain in the ar*e getting stopped three times a week.
